Escaping from the rain we found this lovely, cosy little cafe which was thankfully dog friendly 🐶 What a find! Why do you have to destroy a nice little story about a nice little girl and a nice little café with annoying, way too depressing things?

is the perfect setting for enjoying breakfast, lunch with a glass of wine, dinner and everything in between. But when a family emergency throws them back together again, can she put aside the hurt of her past and embrace the happy ending she deserves? The writing was good, but it just stretched on for no reason, it could have been easily written within 300 pages. Definitely the perfect read for a crispy weekend, to be enjoyed with a good Italian coffee and a big piece of lemon cake.

Finally, the speed with which they were delivered was also excellent – especially as this was during the Christmas rush. I love her uplifting and inspiring stories and I can already tell you that I absolutely loved The Lemon Tree Café. This story is full of fun and of little dramas that can be life - changing for some of the characters, and I think this is one of the factors that make this novel so lovely to read, so relatable and just so down to earth. It is very suitable for a baby in a buggy, as you do not have to worry about space while sitting outside. Inspired by her recent visit to Sorrento, Rosie Featherstone has given The Lemon Tree Café a full Italian makeover, and with sister Lia now giving the menu a delicious twist, business is booming again! There’s love in the air too, as a budding romance could be on the cards with Gabe, although Rosie isn’t quite ready to open her heart again completely.

I warmed to the book and the characters right at the beginning - even to the all - knowing nonna (you know I have huge problems with wiser than wise older aunts, grandmas, cousins in the stories. This is run by her Italian grandmother and after feeling a bit worried about how her grandmother is coping now that she's 75, Rosie decides to stay and work at the cafe for a little while, as a way of secretly helping out when her nonna isn't looking.

Great new family run cafe with delicious, fresh home cooked food, snacks and sandwiches – lots of choice, friendly staff, UNBEATABLE brownies (which they even can deliver to your door! Sadly, this book has made me wary of ever wanting to pick up another book by this author, which is a shame as I loved two of her other books. Low rating cuz there was an instance where the character is affected by rape throughout her life but well the conclusion to that whole deal was just brushed upon.
