He other main interest was establishing ‘The Forest of Dennis’, a large broadleaf forest in central England. Especially as not surrendering equity is the key piece of advice in the whole book and the author gives example after example of why - all of which are hard to argue with. But, if you're interested in seeing how one insightful and introspective fellow made in into the big time, this is an excellent read. Yet if you are not willing to fail you will forever be bound in circumstances that involve little risk.

And if someone like me can become rich, then so can you - no matter what your present circumstances. When he points this out to non-rich friends, they respond that while this might be the case for him, money definitely would make them happy.

But there lies the paradox of `How to Get Rich' in that the central advice has been ignored by its author consistently and by ignoring his own advice he has made most of his money. This is the kind of advice that most people will ignore, human beings having that tendency to think they will be the exception. I decided to give this one a try, however, since it was written by Felix Dennis, a man who had the foresight to purchase a major stake in the crack-like news periodical The Week, hands down my favorite magazine of all time. Full of though truths that people who want to accumulate wealth and big build businesses need to know. An “Albert” is one who can never become rich simply because they lack the personality or drive to do so; they exist in a grey zone between desire and compulsion.
