The treasure trove of high seas adventures just got bigger with this collection of the first three volumes of One Piece! La historia de Nami y la de Sanji, al igual que me ha pasado en el live-action, es la que llega a emocionarme fuerte por primera vez y hacerme sentir más cercana a este grupo de descerebrados. Eiichiro Oda ( 尾田栄一郎, Oda Eiichirō) is a Japanese manga artist, best known as the creator of the manga and anime One Piece. Since I had thought of Helmeppo beforehand, this was the first thing that came to mind as I was brainstorming the introduction of his father.The reason why he ended up looking more or less good looking is because one of my editors straight up just told me that he "looks like crap". No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, no underlining or highlighting of text, and no writing in the margins. There's a lot of action and heart which skates on being a little too shounen cheesy at times, although the overall experience is fantastic. Es muy divertido seguir a Luffy y verlo formar su equipo en estos primeros capítulos, donde los flashbacks nos ayudan a conectar con los personajes y las aventuras se suceden sin parar.

Sanji clearly thinks he needs to pay Zeff back by linking himself forever to the oceangoing restaurant that was Zeff’s dream, even though Zeff doesn’t want him to. Even though this volume wasn't as interesting as some of the others it was still pretty good and I am excited for what follows. I confess I chuckled whenever he came up with a "Crap Geezer" line, since I'm apparently a 12 year old! It all comes back to his mentor/father figure, chef and former pirate Zeff, and the sacrifices he made for kid Sanji when the two were marooned together (and the manga version of that experience is even darker than the anime).
