The Face Facts Ceramide Moisturising Gel Cream. FaceFacts - Ceramide Moisturising Gel Cream" is a well-rounded moisturizing product. As we expect from a proper moisturizer, the formula includes a combo of effective humectants and emollients. These are the two different types of ingredients that are essential for improving the skin hydration and supporting a healthy skin barrier. Humectants in this product (glycerin, sodium hyaluronate, butylene glycol and propylene glycol) help to increase the water content in the upper layer of the skin. (These ingredients do so by "capturing" water molecules from the outside air or from within the deeper layers of the skin). Ceramide eop, ceramide ng, ceramide np, ceramide ns and paraffinum liquidum in this product help decrease the water evoporation from the skin, so that it stays hydrated for longer. These ingredients also soften the skin and take away the feeling of tightness and dryness. Ingredient callouts

"They help make up the lipids in the top layer of skin (the stratum corneum), along with cholesterol and free fatty acids." They play an important role in the structure and barrier function of the skin by helping the skin retain moisture and protect the skin from exposure to environmental aggressors. Ceramides. If you’re not yet acquainted with them, then consider this your introduction. If you’re a TikTok fan (raises hand) then chances are you’ll be somewhat familiar with the wonder skincare ingredient already. From the viral sensation which is Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream to Sali Hughes’ new range with Revolution Beauty (more on this later), it’s the ingredient that beauty buffs and skincare experts swear by. They help to hydrate skin by sealing in moisture," says Dr Khorana. "This can help to keep your complexion looking healthy, firm, and plump, and may also help minimise the appearance of fine lines."

Ceramides can be useful to incorporate into your skincare routine as ceramide production tends to decrease after the age of 40, and there’s evidence that they mimic the skin’s own natural moisturising systems and help boost the skin’s barrier.
