Description

He looks back in detail at the 2007 World Championship -- the race wins, the frightening crash in Germany, his intense rivalry with team-mate Fernando Alonso, his special relationship with Ron Dennis, and the furore over the Ferrari allegations -- right up to the dramatic last race of the season in Brazil. I hope he updates the book considering there were a lot of interesting events in his F1 career that happened after 2007.

I had been very young during the 2007 season and I frankly didn't remember much and it was coming from a very young Lewis who was in his rookie season so it wasn't that interesting. With victories in Canada, America and Hungary and Japan he led the World Drivers' Championship, right up to the last race of the season. Nic is seven years younger than me and because of that, I sometimes feel like I have to teach him things, like my dad did for me. He's an interesting racer, being the first black one in F1 but that doesn't really show in this book.At an early age, Lewis narrates his humble beginnings, the people who supported him all the way and his first year as an F1 driver. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. From the start in Melbourne, which seems so long ago now, to the finish in São Paulo, I travelled through a phenomenal Formula One year, winning four races, finishing as runner-up in five, and battling for podium finishes in a few others, in my rookie season with the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team.

My mum is a huge and important part of my life and has always been there in the background wishing me success from afar. And the launch in Valencia on 15 January earlier in the year, when we did all the razzmatazz and had those huge crowds and did the ‘doughnuts’ in the streets…So much has happened since – and luckily for me, nearly all of it has been good. The test at Silverstone – only a year before I flew to Japan and China for the two Grands Prix that lifted me within reach of the title and then dashed my hopes – was the best week of my life at the time. The whole operation period was a very traumatic time for us all, in particular Nic, who, when the time came to take off his plaster casts, thought the doctors were going to cut his legs off. However, living such an exciting life and in an environment where you have to win because everything else is a failure.

Neste livro escrito pelo próprio Lewis em 2007 é como uma viagem no tempo, àquele ano na Formula 1, à vida de Lewis e toda a sua trajetória até aquele momento.Formula One is such a demanding and fast-moving business that it is easy to lose your own sense of direction sometimes.
