Archived from the original on 1 November 2023.Darts is a very popular sport in Molesey, played at several public houses including the Molesey Football Club, The Royal Oak, The Cannon and the Royal British Legion. Teams are made up of patrons and club members. All teams compete in the Molesey and District Darts League. The club consists of approximately 700 members, consisting of juniors, novices, seniors, veterans and Great Britain internationals of both genders. In the early 2000s Andy Triggs-Hodge joined the club as a promising newcomer and went on to become one of the greatest rowers in British rowing history. He won golds at Beijing (in the 4-), London (In the 4-) and Rio (in the VIII). Another club member Tom James also won golds with Andy in the 4- at Beijing in 2008 and London in 2012. Also George Nash won a bronze at London in the coxless pair and a gold in the four at Rio. Finally James Foad won a bronze in the eight at London. Of course in addition to the Olympic medals these rowers won numerous world championship and Henley medals.

In 2012 Bradley Wiggins won the Olympic Time Trial event. The course passed through East and West Molesey and Hurst Park, and the event finish was at Hampton Court Palace, which has an East Molesey postcode: Hampton Court Palace, East Molesey, Surrey KT8 9AU. Metropolitan Police F.C. is a non-league football team based in East Molesey and are based at the Imber Court Sports Ground. Around 1330, John de Matham married Isabella de Molesey. Her estate became known as Molesey Matham. The manor house of Molesey Matham was built around this time. (The house with its later, mainly 17 th-century, additions still survives at 6 Matham Road).The adult crewed courses run late summer/early autumn and participants need to have completed the Sculling Experience at MBC or have sculling experience from another club. The LTR course involves rowing as part of a crew, learning navigation and safety on our stretch of the Thames, and how to cox a boat with confidence. The group meets twice a week on Sundays mornings and Wednesdays evenings. At the end of the course there is a sculling, coxing and safety assessment. Those who pass the course and wish to continue rowing will be invited to join Molesey Boat Club as a member and start rowing with the Explore group. Bill Cotton, the television producer and executive and the son of big-band leader Billy Cotton, lived in East Molesey in his later years
