But in saying all the above, if this book brings solace or encourages someone to change something for the better, who am I to dismiss it. Fearne has been on our screens presenting live TV since the age of 15 when she was spotted by ITV's Disney Club. The paperback was all black and white and dense chunks of text whereas the hardback is coloured illustrations and text and more spaced out which I find easier with my dyslexia.

but this doesn't help much for those who don't have a compatible device or those who might be visually impaired. With many millions of followers on social media, she is ranked amongst the world's 250 most influential tweeters. The times when she was trying to be liked by everyone and ended up as someone she really didn’t feel was herself and I thought wow that super confident woman I remember wanting to be like was really just like me! I’m think most people would benefit from reading this book especially if sometimes being happy is the hardest thing in the world.

Thank you Fearne and friends for showing all of us that have struggled with mental health, whether that be one small moment of anxiety, or a lifetime of dark days that we are not alone and that there is light in the darkness. I have still given it 4 stars because I found the book the sort I would dip in and out of when needed as I find my depression and anxiety very up and down. The activity pages that have you relate it all to your own life felt awkwardly placed as they often cut off a sentence on the previous page, making you confused about how to read it. It is a sort of self-help guide but instead of telling the reader how to live their life, she gives advice and perspective on mental health and how to look within your self for your way of living. Whether it's using your feet to stay active, your mouth to talk about your feelings or your shoulders to feel confident, this is a one-stop holistic guide to happiness from bestselling author, Fearne Cotton.

I can see how this would be useful for some people, and having a book like this written by a popular figure certainly brings it to the masses, but I felt like it lacked scientific information and regurgitated a watered down version of therapy. Fearne is a mother of two, and step-mother of two, and closely supports a range of charities - most notably mental health charity Mind, The Prince's Trust and Coppafeel!I purchased this book for my 10-year-old stepdaughter after getting her the mood journal from Fearne Cotton as well. It made me focus on my life as a whole and how I control my own world while also learning about other peoples struggles. Ferne is a great advocate of talking to good friends about how you’re feeling but what she fails to consider is that we’re not all so lucky to have people who will listen to us when we need it. Fearne is currently back in her role as team captain on the 16th series of Celebrity Juice, a show that continues to be a ratings winner for ITV2.

Currently, I am using the Calm Journal that she wrote, it has helped as she has put in little guides one each page. I appreciated her discussion of gratitude and that actually it is only by feeling such black emotions that you develop great empathy for other people and make it your mission to try to make the world a more happy place.Well written and very personal, it’s a great account of Ferne’s own struggles alongside tasks and things for you to think about and try!

Fearne Cotton For many of us, life can feel like it's moving too fast with pressure bearing down on us from all sides - whether that's from school or work, family or social media. I also found the location for some of the fill-in activities to be a little awkward, breaking up the chapters and disrupting the flow a little. When I think of Fearne Cotton, I always remember her as the loud and confident presenter of morning tv. For many of us, life can feel like it's moving too fast with pressure bearing down on us from all sides - whether that's from school or work, family or social media. This was the perfect book to start the new year with and I loved it so much I even went and purchased her new book ‘Speak your truth’ which was released today! Unfortunately it feels like at least half of the book (including multiple interviews with Ferne's mum, MIND charity and Craig David, all the tips and exercises, and much more) is hidden away in the pdf rather than being included in the audiobook which is really quite disappointing and just makes it feel a bit like the audiobook is a commentary to a separate book rather than the other way around. I made the decision at the end of last year that I wanted to start the new year off with a non-fiction read and well. It was incredibly hard to finish and was so repetitive, Cotton talks about taking care of your mental state and health for beginners - it was all basic stuff I know and didn't provide me with any new insight. With expert advice from the Mind, along with ideas and exercises, delve into the journey of happiness as Fearne invites you to try it out for yourself!
