This isn't just a book, it's a movement - a call to action. Every woman deserves to know more about her body and everyone, regardless of their sex, needs to know more about women's bodies to remove the vestiges of secrecy and shame once and for all. This is the playbook for getting the most out of your body, offering strategies for you to find out what works best for you.

The book highlights the need for more research and studies solely on women and the need to talk about our bodies and our reproductive system beyond its purpose to carry a child. Whether you read cover to cover, dip into chapter headings or keep as your reference guide it will change your coaching of girl and women athletes. Equip you with knowledge to manage injuries that women are more prone to than men… all while being your best self.Baz, Bella and Emma are my go-to experts and with The Female Body Bible, they can be yours too. Judy Murray, tennis coach I turned 40 this year. I read this book switching between thinking, why am I only just finding out about this stuff that specifically related to my physical body, and feeling incredibly downhearted and disappointed that the patriarchy still massively hampers women in so many different areas; in the case of this book, women in sport. The differences that originally stopped women from taking part in exercise and competition have been overlooked and ignored completely. We have thoroughly enjoyed working on this project (The Well HQ) and long may it continue. Professor Joanna Wakefield Scurr, University of Portsmouth harness your hormones to improve your menstrual cycle symptoms, work productivity and exercise habits

confidently communicate with your health and fitness practitioners, friends, partners or colleagues about health issues you may be facing With all this focus on men and women offered the aptly named, ‘shrink it and pink it’ version, it’s no wonder women and girls are put off sport. The Eve Appeal is a gynaecological cancer charity and we have worked with Bella for over 4 years. She's a trusted and serious voice - but equally effectively engages with a group of teenagers on menstrual wellbeing or group of 50+ on the impacts of the menopause and how to manage it. Athena Lamnisos, CEO, The Eve Appeal Mastering your Menstrual Cycle', 'Your Body and Birth Control', 'Perfecting your Pelvic Floor', 'Supporting Your Breasts Well', 'Bodies That Move Well', 'Eating Well', 'Sleeping Well' and 'A Woman's Brain'. The main message I got from this book is being a woman isn't enough and I'm doing everything wrong. It wasn't a positive book and instead gives women a list as long as their arm about everything they should change in their life as if being a woman isn't hard enough! It wasn't an easy "here are some ways to improve your health" like I thought it would be and felt way more like a toxic lecture.

Each chapter is carefully set out to guide you, supported by the authors sharing lived experiences from themselves and their clients. change the language used to talk to adolescent girls about their bodies and give them the confidence to advocate for themselves Although it’s beneficial for professional and semi-professional athletes, I personally appreciated how Baz, Emma and Bella identified with the struggles everyday active women face. It’s a completely non-prescriptive book about health and fitness. The focus is all about what will work in your life, enabling you to keep doing sport and exercise you enjoy.

This book is wonderfully empowering, it has given me huge insight into how my body works and how I can help myself be stronger, fitter and healthier. My only wish is I could have had it as a teenager when I very sadly gave up competitive swimming because I didn’t like the way it made me look, and had no clue how immensely important it was to me both physically and mentally. I can’t wait to give it to my daughters, so they don’t make the same mistake.

The webinar you ran for our colleagues must be one of the most, if not the most, well received event of its kind that we've had at Tate! In the follow-up survey we sent around to staff, the session received an average star rating of 4.7 out of 5. ' Fleur Kaminska: Learning & Development Coordinator, Tate Britain The authors seem to want every woman to wholeheartedly love their period and verged on toxic positivity. Women do not have to love their periods and body neutrality is proven to be a much better approach as there are less extreme emotions and shame. It's fine to hate your period. They are painful, messy and an inconvenience but this book feels like an always commercial where every woman is skipping through fields so happy to have her period! It's not helpful. Merging the latest science with the combined experience of its three expert authors: NHS doctor Bella Smith, sports research scientist Dr Emma Ross and athletic coach Baz Moffat, The Female Body Bible busts the myths and taboos that persist around women's bodies. Every female athlete, every coach of female athletes, and everybody in between needs to get involved with the amazing team at The WellHQ. A comprehensive guide from a team of experts giving women of all ages the knowledge to understand our bodies throughout our lives to make us fitter, healthier, happier.
