Lizzie: A regal and rich blue, with deep tones that seep into the recesses. This is perfect for making those Stormcast Eternals look fit to serve Sigmar. Lizzie: As majestic as Sigvald himself, this is a really vibrant colour that shades and highlights effortlessly. Naturally, I’ve tried this on the Prince himself and I can confirm – he heartily approves.

So there you have it, pro-tips from one of our pro-painters! That’s just 10 of the 25 new Contrast paints – we’ve already had ideas for coruscating bolts of energy with Mantis Warrior Green and some filthy underhive terrain with Garaghak’s Sewer. The possibilities are truly endless! The sheer number of new additions to the range has totally spoiled us, and we can’t wait for you all to try them out! It’s amazing to see so many vibrant and punchy new colours, alongside some awesome subtle ones. The applications for these paints are endless. Follow my Green Flames Rev iii for the recipe for the flames. Always do last as you can apply some minor OSL. It’s an incredibly exciting time to be a Warhammer hobbyist – the Citadel Colour range is expanding with 25 vivid and versatile new Contrast paints, the Shade range has been reformulated with a further seven new colours added, and a brand new bright white spray primer is coming! It’s a chromatic Christmas, and it’s still summer! Lizzie: What a name! Perfect on Daemonettes and other Daemons of Slaanesh – you can apply this over a light skin tone to create gaunt and sunken flesh. It’s also fun to use over metallics to create a really unique tone. And there’s more – all Citadel Colour Shades have been reformulated to make them even better, seven more have been created, which we’ll be taking a look at next week. Plus, we’ve also perfected white spray paint, making it easier than ever to undercoat your miniatures.

That’s it, your Saurus is done! If your shield has areas that you want to make stone, like I did on mine, just follow the same steps from the stone weapon. Lizzie: Easily one of the most vibrant of the green tones, this really draws attention to a miniature. I’ve used this to create some bright warp flame, and Nighthaunt magic. Hello there guys, ghouls, and, thampires. Today I’m gonna walk through my method for speed painting tentacles. Its relatively simple and nothing crazy but the results will make any cultist of Nurgle green with envy (or gangrene, not really sure). So lets go ahead and get started! Lizzie: A bold and brash paint with subtle darker tones, this is really versatile. Of course, it’s ideal for those Aeldari Striking Scorpions, but it’s brilliant for glazing onto eye lenses and gemstones to create glowing effects. Start by priming the models with Games Workshop’s Wraithbone primer, then paint them with Guilliman Flesh Contrast Paint. Next load a brush with Contrast Medium and then basically tap it to Volupus Pink and brush that on. Thin it with even more Contrast Medium while wet, if necessary.Tyranids are a purely organic faction, which means that even within a fixed colour scheme there’s room for individual variation and mutation. This is great news if, like me, you have trouble figuring out the right recipe for the colour you want – you can experiment on different models and units until you’re happy, and the results won’t look odd at all! Lizzie: This is a really fun, swampy green with a number of applications. Naturally, it’s great for giving those Mantis Warriors some time in the spotlight. Final steps. I painted the manhole and grate with Typhus Corrosion, then drybrushed it with Ryza Rust to give it an old rusted metal look and a gritty texture. Next comes the technical paints. I painted a few globs of Nurgle’s Rot on the cover, and a generous dollop under the tip of the tentacle and in the crook where it’s bending over itself. This gives it a wet, green texture but I want to get the rest of the model. I don’t want to wash out the green completely so the rest of the model gets covered in ‘Ardcoat.
