Description

I really liked the heart warming tone of it with some major principles of one of the greatest religions explained in a simple and encouraging way. All in all, it is a beautiful novel about a cat, from her own perspective, that I loved so much I wanted to read it again as soon as I'd finished - it's not very long and as it's easy to read, as well as addictive, I found I'd finished it much sooner than I'd have liked!

Ah, și ar mai fi drăguț ca un credincios, cum pretinde autorul că e, să nu râdă de cei care stau cu nasul în telefon, în loc să îl țină pe sus, ca să vadă norii și păsărelele cum se adună pe la cuiburi. Michie combines the antics of the cat with perceptive portrayals of the Dalai Lama and his teachings. For further information about your statutory rights, contact your local authority Trading Standards department or consumer advice centre (for example the Citizen's Advice Bureau if you are in the UK). I was attracted by the title of this book and hence took it up without knowing anything about the subject. This cat, that has many names, is the narrator and tells us about her daily life in the Dalai Lama's house and her adventures outside. Through Snow Lion's experiences, we learn that instead of trying to change the world, the way to true contentment is changing the way we react and experience the world. Simpatična knjižica o jednoj maci koja nas uči o budizmu kroz prisluškivanje razgovora u Dalaj Laminom okruženju.

But if lightness and humor are a hallmark of enlightened perspective, then Michie’s feline tale offers his readers a purrfectly enchanting entree into the real life benefits of spiritual practice with a delightful dollop of whimsy to keep us laughing at ourselves. Because the simple fact is that characters and stories engage us at an emotional level, which most non-fiction books do not. I LOVE your books, the people you have created and the circle of life discovered by HHC – from being a dog, to meeting up with the two young boys who found her to Sid! In fact, this quote from the book sums it up best; "The purpose of Buddhism is not to convert people.A hair-raising chase through the streets of McLeod Ganj leads to an unexpected revelation about the perils of self-obsession. I just wanted to mention the work of Dr Bruno Cayoun, who I had the privilege to meet this year at a conference. The next three go down a notch at each book due to the authors desire to ensure new readers catch up on the background of all the characters and its a bit repetitive if you have been reading from the start.
