You might get it to go with the AV cable and a capture card for a computer. Unfortunately, skimming the manual left me with the impression that it won't work. I could be wrong about that, so you might read it more thoroughly. Unless someone else has tried it, you'll have to buy the converter/capture card to know if it works. I have to admit having spare batteries could be handy but of course you could simply buy a second battery for the more expensive battery if you go for that. You can try setting focus of the camera to focus on a particular point, and keep the subject at the same point, that should have the same or similar effect.

The 3 inch LCD doesn't have a high resolution, so it's hard to get a good idea of how your pictures have turned out until you view them on your computer.
