We look for the public’s input, so polling is open today,” he said as the plans for the Maidstone game were revealed. Leading landmarks from Maidstone will replace those from the original MONOPOLY game and the public are being invited to vote for landmarks and cards to feature in the game. Current suggestions are Leeds Castle, Archbishop’s Palace, the Town Hall, Maidstone Prison, Mote Park, Maidstone Hospital and Maidstone Museum. As MONOPOLY announce a new Maidstone version of the iconic game Maidstone Borough Council is urging residents to vote for places to feature on the new board game.

Finding four train stations as in the Monopoly original proved a challenge. As did locating Maidstone’s Old Kent Road equivalent. The public suggested Maidstone landmarks and charities to be featured in the new game Even Maidstone’s famous attractions have got involved trying to gather support, so they can claim they’re square on this latest edition. Mr Shrimpton said the company would carry out research to look for what is important to the County Town to ensure the game has a really unique local flavour.
