Let's ignore for now that she had gotten herself into that situation (again) and would have been much better served asking for help because she was insufferably bad at it. Hopefully Glow is better since there won't be any more Midas and it can concentrate more on Rip and the other side characters, but there is still the issue with the queen. Jedes Wort, jede Seite begleitete ein extremer Suchtmodus, was auch mit dem flüssigen Schreibstil zusammenhängt. The characters are interesting and the steamy scenes are not over the top or too often but they are steamy. While I appreciated seeing Auren become more independent, I had some major problems with the romance.

There’s no hints at this btw—just me and my overactive imagination jumping to conclusions) Because that would just make my month. Not to mention the prose - so well done, so unique, so wonderfully descriptive that I can envision this world of magic and politics and love and loss as if I am there, living in it, experiencing all that Auren does. But I regret reading this series, because even though I found Book 1 and 2 to be bad and mediocre at best, everyone said that Book 3 is amazing and will blow me away, but here I am struggling with it for the last six days. She's an interesting character and having her POV once again really make the similarities and differences between her and Auren stand out. FINALLY - I was getting so sick of her deluding herself about the deceptive, self-serving, inherently weak King Midas.Being born into power doesn't grant you charisma or automatic leadership skills and the right to continue to be in power.

After living amongst the terrifying army of Fourth Kingdom, I find myself, once again, in strange lands and a kingdom surrounded by liars. I mentioned that there is a lot of sexual tension and also some angst between Auren and Slade, but we can also see that it's more than just sexual attraction between them.If a refund is payable to you we will process the refund as soon as possible, and, in any case within fourteen (14) days.

I figure the my biggest issue was that Auren was back with Midas and I hate that guy with a passion.

In Gleam, we get Auren's and Malina's POVs once again, with the addition of Midas' POV for more than one chapter. However, my favorite thing about their relationship is how supportive and patient Slade is with Auren and her struggle to break away from Midas's control. Having that ripped away from her, even if it was at her own doing, has been a bit of an adjustment and I really liked seeing Lu in particular, continue to interact with her.

Also his respect for her was the bare minimum but him being one of the first to give that to her was freeing. I have been enjoying this series so much, I don’t know if it’s just excellent timing for this type of book for me right now but I have been smashing through the books. He lets Auren know from the start what he wants, but he treats her in a way that makes it clear that while he says he wants everything and he will not let her go after one night, he doesn't plan on trying to control her, and he would let her go if that's what she truly wanted. Auren has to go back to come to terms with her past, identify and confront her previous abuse, reject any instance of further abuse and see for herself that King Midas cannot be redeemed in any way. Gild ended with Auren and the other saddles being taken by Fourth Kingdom's army after Auren killed the Captain of the Red Raids by turning him into solid gold, making Rissa and the readers believe that she inherited Midas' power when he Gold-Toucher her, the revelation of the existence of a Seventh Kingdom with a bridge to the Fae realm, Annwyn, until peace was broken by the Fae, the bridge destroyed and Seventh Kingdom and its people never seen again.
