And while I’m in not overtly anti-Skeletoes, seeing their four-toed shoes as being a sort of competition to Vibram FiveFingers or perhaps a low-cost gateway shoe into the world of minimalist footwear or toe shoes, I have to say Fila is being not the least bit obnoxious with their latest billboard campaign. I’ve worn them mainly for walking around the house, long walks with my dogs, biking, and exercising. These shoes require socks for 2 reasons: they chafe toes a little, that can cause bloody blisters after only 5 miles without toe socks (my experience). That said, my VFF’s (KSO) are my favorite all round do everything everywhere (that wont wreck them).

The Converse pair is flat as a pancake, and in description alone, they sound like great minimalist shoes. The Fila design had four pockets (combined pocket for the 4th and 5th toes) whereas the Vibram had five pockets for the toes. I wore my Vibrams to BB on one occasion, but avoided the slides where I've been asked to take my sandals off, so I can't answer definitively that I would have been asked to.

Its kind of like mountain biking where you look ahead and your brain has already processed what's a few feet in front of you so you can concentrate on what's ahead and potentially what you may have to duck underneath. Well, I can only imagine that Fila’s executives are beside themselves giving toe shod “low fives” (low “fours? Fila has entered the toe shoe market, Skele-toes are their answer to the very popular Vibram Five Fingers. Generally speaking, as people get into wearing toe shoes, they tend to pick up more pairs over time, preferring the fit and feel of the toe shoe design over more traditional shoes.

I am just not an all black person and also Vibram is well know for their sizing nuances where all black varieties are concerned. They are toe shoes (Read about the merits of the toe shoe design here) — rather than a traditional shoe’s open toe box, the Skele-toes have articulated toe pockets. In fact, Vibram has even partnered with Merrell and New Balance to create minimal/barefoot like sole platforms that are complementary to our Vibram FiveFingers. Although it didn't take me long to realize I needed to adjust the heel strap to keep it from rubbing. I don't know if their permitted at Disney parks or not never been, but they look like water shoes so you should have no problem, i used them at seaworld.Rock protection is excellent, as the Skele-Toes Bay Runner, though light and thin, have a tough sole. It puts me in the odd position of being neither fish nor fowl; not really part of the “barefoot running” community, but also not 100% an advocate of “traditional” running shoes.
