Description

The Grand Army of the Republic is a massive organization consisting of countless troops, vehicles, and all the equipment needed to support them in the field. More than just soldiers, countless clone specialists hold it all together, keeping it prepared to overcome whatever obstacles are thrown in its path. Fire Support: Now this is a great keyword. Easily the best of the “standard” corps unit special keywords, Fire Support opens up a ton of options. Fire support it at its best when you can support something that already surges to hit/crit, but it can be pretty devastating just in support of another Clone unit.

This is obviously great if you are taking Boil, and completely useless otherwise. If you want to pay the premium to run Boil in a Phase II unit, try and find the five points for this. Gear Anakin: The commander of the 501st pops up a lot in this article, with good reason. He provides tokens for your clones to use outside of the clone sharing cap, he defends them against aggressive threats, and he provides an incredible fire support starter when equipped with Saber Throw. Overwatch is my go-to for an Anakin/Padme list, where you can spend Anakin or Padme’s standby tokens via Exemplar, or for Yoda where you can do nearly the same thing (between Guidance and his three pip). A Phase I unit with a Captain, heavy, and Overwatch makes for a very beefy corps unit that can zone effectively at Range 3 and ignore suppression on demand. It’s a little pricey, at between 89-94 points (depending on whether you run the RPS, DC-15, or Z-6, all of which are good choices here), so I wouldn’t run more than 1-3 of these, but they’re a great unit to supplement Anakin or Yoda. Situational AwarenessThe best-documented legion organization was that of the Grand Army of the Republic, in which a standard legion consisted of 9,216 soldiers, as mentioned above. These were divided among four regiments, each of four battalions of 576 men.

War has engulfed the galaxy. The vast forces of the Separatist Alliance, bolstered by seemingly endless ranks of battle droids, have pushed the Galactic Republic to the brink of dissolution and defeat. The Republic's only hope is its army of elite clone troopers, led into battle by noble, Force-wielding Jedi Knights. The war between them is an epic struggle where every battle could turn the tide and change the fate of the galaxy. You can immerse yourself in this epic conflict, assembling your forces and leading them against your opponents in the legendary ground battles of Star Wars™ with the Clone Wars Core Set for Star Wars™: Legion! [3] Obi-Wan Kenobi and General Grievous each pose with lightsabers at the ready, prepared to lead their troops into battle and show off their skills in combat. Both these miniatures are exclusive to the Clone Wars Core Set. If you don’t have a specific plan for the training upgrade that comes with the Captain, the Specialist is a great choice for an extra body with an on-demand token. This is a popular choice alongside Fives to make an extra beefy seven wound Clone unit. I also think it’s pretty interesting in a DP-23 unit for some extra punch once you’ve closed the gap, and I’ve found your DP-23 tends to get ignored until that happens. Phase I Clone Captain (12 points) In addition, most advertising networks offer you a way to opt out of targeted advertising. Anakin and Padme go together like peanut butter and jelly. Their chemistry on the Legion table is certainly a lot better than on the silver screen, anyway. Ultimately, Star WarsLegion is more than just a game—it’s an invitation to create an army that only you could have built, gathering troopers, vehicles, and iconic characters from the Star Wars saga and pitting them against your opponent’s army in battle. The first step in building your army is to select your side and choose the units that will make up your army. Even within the Core Set, you already have impactful choices to make with units of Rebel Troopers and Stormtroopers, along with 74-Z Speeder Bikes, an AT-RT, Darth Vader, and Luke Skywalker. You may be planning to play out a small-scale skirmish between just a few units or a massive battle, but either way, the units that you choose are the foundation of your army.

Note: This review is for The Clone Wars Core Set, but there’s another core set that’s based on the original trilogy. A Word about Miniatures And of course, perhaps the most entertaining way you can customize your army is by painting and customizing your miniatures! All Star WarsLegion minis come unpainted, so after you assemble your army, you’ll be able to paint your miniatures into something that only you could have created. Although you don’t need to paint your miniatures, many players find it more enjoyable to play with a painted army, and even if you’ve never painted an army of miniatures before, Star WarsLegion is the perfect introduction to the hobby. On that note, let’s get into the gameplay, and I will try not to let my feelings towards my plastic babies interfere with my judgment as a board gamer. ReviewOnce you have assembled your forces you them need to assemble your force adding in troopers, vehicles, and of course, characters from the epic film series. Just as they should, characters like Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader can change the course of the battle, if used to their strengths! Dispatch an elite corp unit of Phase II Clone Troopers to the battles of the Clone Wars with seven new miniatures to add to your Star Wars: Legion collection!

A BARC Speeder miniature gives your Clone Troopers some much-needed speed as they look to out-maneuver the Separatist's battle droids and can be assembled with or without its sidecar. Those who include the sidecar can further customise their speeder with a twin laser gunner, an RPS-6 gunner, or an ion gunner. As the Separatist Alliance spreads itself across the galaxy, brave Clone Troopers and valiant Jedi are the only thing that stand between the relentless waves of Battle Droids and total galactic domination. Soon, you can build your armies and battle for the fate of the galaxy. The least appreciated of the Phase I heavies, the laser shotgun. Range 2 isn’t great, and it’s only one less point than the Z-6, but it’s a shotgun with Pierce, on a much more durable platform than the comparable Fleet Troopers. The game is also currently dominated by melee/close range threats, so it is somewhat more likely than it used to be to get this short ranged pool on target. Two squads of Phase I Clone Troops enter the fight to preserve the Republic. Five carry the DC-15A blaster rifle while two heavy weapons specialists add extra firepower with a Z-6 rotary blaster cannon and a DC-15 blaster rifle modified to fire from long range.Star Wars: Legion is played over the course of six rounds as you and your opponent duel over objectives on a battlefield of the Galactic Civil War. At the end of six rounds, the player with the most victory tokens (earned from objectives) wins the game.
