My First Castle Panic is a cooperative tower (castle) defense game for 1-4 players ages 4+ that plays in just 20 minutes.

I’m thinking before Monopoly and before Cluedo, and for me it was probably the frustration of snakes and ladders. You never want a game to feel unfair when you’re playing with younger kids, and at times, that’s what you get with this game. Rolling a dice, and moving a number of spaces with zero skill and being fully at the whims of the luck of a dice, where being about to win could turn into being last just because you rolled the wrong number and that kind of game can easily cause a feeling that board games are something that are just based on pure luck. There’s also some nice variety in the game so that it’s predictable from session to session, but still not exactly the same.

As an adult I also enjoy this game though wish it was a little more varied as it may feel a bit repetitive in time but for a dad and son game it is spot on.

Each player starts with a card and on your turn, starting with the youngest player, you draw a card and if you can play a card. In My First Castle Panic, a group of monsters is racing out of the woods and coming right at your Castle! We recently discovered after going to the library there are a lot of fun kids' games we can check out. So, maybe there is a place for an even more simplified version of this already great gateway game, so we’re going to dig inside the box to take a look.We played three times in a row when we first played it and they have asked to play it numerous times since then.
