Book is from a collection owned by a former bookseller who proudly attached the Caldecott Medal stickers sent by the publisher--note that in this case the sticker is located to the far, bottom right rather than toward the top left where it normally is. Wiesner’s point here, I think, isn’t to keep us rigidly on the rails of this visual track but rather to make sure that when we first look at the painting we’ve got visual access to all of its parts.

And some not-so-classic horror films (I wouldn’t recommend Hammer’s Vampire Circus, aside from the surprising debut of Lalla Ward as a shapeshifting vampire acrobat). David Wiesner’s story of a magic along with his beautiful illustrations makes “Tuesday” a mesmerizing book for children. SIGNED by the Author-Illustrator, small oblong 4to (9 1/4" tall x 11" wide), quarter black cloth with pale green paper-over-boards, illustrated throughout with large watercolor plates by David Wiesner, dust jacket (unclipped) with gold Caldecott medallion, [32] pages. One of my very first posts was about the remarkable David Weisner book, Tuesday ( Tuesday on a Tuesday). Wiesner changes out those pupils for smaller dots on others, though, which gives them a more surprised or fascinated expression.I am absolutely amazed at how much enjoyment this book has given my daughter based solely on her interpretation of the engaging illustrations of the adventures of the frogs on their 'magic flying lily pads.

A story which is classified as science fiction is when the plot could not happen now, but with scientific advancement it could be possible. They provide interest without overwhelming other details, and they contribute to the woman’s character too. But, perhaps because this fantasy never coalesces around a human figure, it is less accessible and less resonant than his tales that center on a child protagonist.
