Vivian may have always put on a facade of being the perfect daughter when it came to her family, but when she was with Dante, he unleashed some part of her that was raw and passionate unlike anything she’d ever really experienced before. Dante, exuded power in himself, and was able to command a room with a presence that was magnetizing. In addition, Dante wasn’t entirely perfect, he had a darkness to him that when revealed showed just how much of a threat he was when provoked, plus he was that morally gray character that despite some potential red flags, you couldn’t help but love him for it.

The scene of the first time they get together is strong, but there is no emotion involved, it is the desire that any man would show for any woman in his bed, a commodity, what she has really become, a woman who all the time he wants to get rid of and who he is neither attracted to nor respects. There are no more intimate scenes between them, and no opportunity to see sex become love. Apart from his wealth, his penthouse full of artwork, his last name and traditional family, he is nothing as a human being.

I was disappointed by the fact that Vivian’s father never apologizes to her or even admits that what he did was wrong. But I love how Dante handles him and I love that she finally stands up to him. The main characters in this book have explosive chemistry and things get pretty steamy.
