Over on Warhammer Community, there’s going to be lots of great content this week, including the online Armies on Parade ceremony on Saturday the 26th. New goodies for Necromunda and the Horus Heresy will be revealed, while the Warhammer Live crew will be working on the Warcry: Sundered Fate and Warhammer Age of Sigmar Battleforce boxes on Hang Out and Paint . The big guy is the Gothizzar Harvester, a giant construct able to resurrect or heal nearby units when other Ossiarch units are depleted around it. Basically you have a 50% chance to resurrect any slain Mortek Guard making the two a viable couple for holding objectives. The flesh is weak, which is the perfect excuse to upgrade your MKVI Tactical Space Marines with a range of cold, hard, cog-toothed Iron Hands upgrades. if you then take the contagion banner once per battle you can use its power to make it so that wound rolls cause a mortal wound in addition to its normal damage. (Combine that with the plague furnace re roll wound rolls prayer) Finally the bale chime gives your wound rolls of 6, a -1 rend.

Another year another set of battle boxes. this time with more boxes available than we’ve seen before. last year we had 4 and this time we have 7.It is also the only way to obtain this version of the Killaboss and the Murknob. It could be also an interesting set for a generic Big Waaagh! army considering there are 2 shooting units and a battleline. If you are interested instead only on one of the four components of the army, this box fails to attract any attention. Overall, this can be a fun project but not a great place to start a Gitz army unless it’s a mixed one taking advantage of the new battletome.

Keep them alive with the wide range of defensive and healing abilities available to skaven armies, along with a re-rollable save and negating wounds on a 5+ thanks to the Scry-orb and Protection of the Horned Rat abilities, to keep generating those extra command points. The skaven are a race of perfidious ratfolk who gnaw on the very fabric of existence, pouring from their Under-Empire in teeming swarms to spread corruption and conquer the Mortal Realms in the name of the Great Horned Rat. Led by maniacal Grey Seers, great seething hordes of Clanrats scurry to war, joined by hulking mutant Stormfiends bristling with esoteric weaponry, and unstable Warp Lightning Cannons that can obliterate entire regiments – if they don't destroy themselves first... The Start Collecting of this faction was not available for long before being replaced by the Vanguard box (you can probably still find it on third party retailers and it contains good value thanks to the centrepiece and its multiple assembly options). Miniatures: 1 Mighty Lord of Khorne, 1 Bloodsecrator, 1 Bloodstoker, 1 Khorgorath, 5 Blood Warriors, 10 Bloodreavers. This set has the battlelines to meet requirements for 750, 1000 or 2000 point games (not recommended) and best of all you could buy multiple copies. Except for the Knight of Shrouds these are staple units you would see in many competitive lists.

The Chaos Knights updated sprue allows them a command group with the musician that really helps their charge rolls. They have only one weapon profile now (except the unit champion that has 3), but they are extremely damaging especially on a charge. This Daughters of Khaine battleforce is literally a bit of a mixed bag. There’s a bit of everything going on, which is either a good think of bad thing depending on what you’re looking for. The value of this one is going to be in the eye of the beholder. Planning a DoK specialist army? probably not for you. Prefer a generalist force? This could well be the foundation you’re after.
