Description

On my first couple of runs in the Ghost 15 it did seem a little softer than its predecessor, and also smoother in the transition from heel to toe. After extended testing, however, I felt that softness disappeared, and while it’s not uncomfortable at all, the shoe feels very similar to the Ghost 14. DNA Loft v2 in the Ghost 15 provides a very cushioned, medium-soft ride which is padded but not at all bouncy. The dense foam doesn’t compress very much so there isn’t much rebound compared to some of the other midsole foams on the market. This characteristic makes the Ghost 15 not suited to tempo runs when you are trying to run fast. The Brooks Ghost 15 women’s and men’s ranges above are ideal for a wide variety of runners, whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned jogger. Ideal for road running, the pairs in this collection come with an updated midsole with increased cushioning to create an even smoother and more comfortable workout. The Brooks Ghost 15 also comes with 3D Fit Print, allowing the shoe to be shaped by your foot to ensure the best fit possible. The item that you wish to Price Match is identical to the one available on Up & Running and ALL the following apply: the same season/model, colour, size, width and specification. The Ghost is only on version 15 and in this relatively short period, it has matured to be one of the most popular running shoes on the planet. It is popular with runners just starting out as well as seasoned, sub-3-hour marathon runners.

Ultraspire Fitted Race Belt:The best way to carry your phone and goods on the run. No bounce and various sizes for waist. (Also recommend the Naked belt)I was hoping the Ghost 15 would be lighter, but at 10.4oz/297g in my UK 9 it’s a very similar weight to the Ghost 14, so any improvements in the ride would need to come from the updated midsole. How I Tested This Shoe In the upper, a newly engineered mesh has targeted stretch zones for areas that need to be able to expand and areas where the foot needs more structure. 3D Fit Print overlays give unintrusive structure for an impeccable fit. If you’re impressed with this men’s and women’s Brooks Ghost 15 collection, you may want to browse our even wider Brooks footwear range where you’ll find a selection of Ghost 14 running shoes, as well as Brooks Glycerin, Brooks Launch, and Brooks Ravenna. You’ll also find footwear from other popular sportswear brands in our range, including adidas, Puma, and Mizuno running shoes. To confuse matters, this is not the nitrogen-infused DNA Loft v3 foam used on the Brooks Glycerin 20, another very popular shoe line. I think that fast runners who can run a sub 3-hour marathon will prefer the Ghost 15 because their easy pace is below 5 minutes per km (8:03 minutes per mile) so the Ghost 15 will feel more efficient, however I think the majority of runners will prefer the softer 14 over the 15.

In the mid-range, daily trainer category, most of the brands have come to the party this year. The Nike Pegasus, Saucony Ride, and Skechers Ride have all been excellent with the Skechers Ride 10 being the standout performer for me so far.The Ghost has an extremely supportive ride due to how little its midsole compresses so even slight overpronators will find the Ghost 15 stable enough. Of all the daily trainers, the Ghost is probably the most stable. The traditional mid-range daily trainer (such as the Ghost) is also under threat from the modern, lightweight trainers which can be used for daily mileage: trainers such as the Rebel v3, Mach 5 and Novablast 3 all have cushioned, engaging rides and are lighter than the average daily trainer. They are also similarly priced. Though more cushioned and airier than the Ghost 14, the Ghost 15 is no match against Brooks’s Glycerin when it comes to softness. This is because of different midsoles. The Glycerin 20 and Glycerin GTS 20 have a nitrogen-infused foam (DNA Loft v3), which was used in 2021’s limited edition Aurora-BL. Several testers noted a welcome improvement would be a more cushioned forefoot. Ghost 15 features 8.8% more recycled materials than its predecessor. Upper textile in made 91.9% of recycled or bio-materials (upper in Ghost 14 was made 63.4% from recycled or bio materials).

It’s the same story with the changes made to the upper of the shoe, which has been tweaked to improve the fit. Once again I didn’t really notice this change, and both the Ghost 14 and Ghost 15 fit me well in my normal running shoe size. Amphipod Hydraform Handheld Water Bottle: Perfect for long runs when you need hydration in the summer The Ghost 15 will probably remain one of the most popular shoes available by virtue of its high level of step-in comfort and deserved reputation for reliability, and if you’re an existing fan of the line the new shoe will suit you well. For me, however, there are simply better options out there that make use of the advances in midsole materials in particular to create more enjoyable and versatile shoes. Brooks Ghost 15 vs Brooks Ghost 14 The Forefoot of the Brooks Ghost 16 is 19mm high for men and women, which is balanced with the heel. I’ve now run in 4 different versions of the Ghost to date and what I’ve noticed is that the difference between each Ghost version is more minimal than any other running shoe series on the market. This means that you know what you’re going to get when you buy a Ghost and also what you’re not going to get because it’s so predictable.

The Midsole of the Brooks Ghost 16 remains the trusted BioMoGo DNA, this time with more plush comfort and cushioning. On paper the Brooks Ghost 15 seems a substantial update on the Brooks Ghost 14, the brand having changed the midsole material to a new version of its DNA Loft v2. Brooks says the foam on the Ghost 15 is lighter, softer and less dense than the one used on the Ghost 14, all of which sounds great. However, in practice I didn’t really feel much difference in the ride, and the Ghost 15 weighs a very similar amount to the Ghost 14 and has the same 12mm drop.

All applicable customs and import duties and any other charges are the responsibility of the customer. The new DNA Loft v2 midsole foam feels remarkably similar to foams of previous years. Whether it’s DNA Loft v1, v2 or BioMogo in the Ghost 10, five years ago, the foams all feel 95% similar to each other. It’s good for easy runs, as long as you appreciate the higher-than-average 12mm drop. The cushioning is not squishy or particularly bouncy, but it protected my legs well and the outsole is excellent, providing reliable grip on wet pavements covered in leaves. The Ghost 15 is a great daily trainer that provides an excellent ride with firm yet spongy cushioning. I really loved the ride and it outperformed recent versions of both the Asics Kayano and GT-2000 in this regard. While both of those shoes have more cushioning, there was a more evenness of the cushioning throughout the Ghost. I ran mostly on roads and gravel paths and the shoe performed well on both surfaces. I wouldn’t use this shoe for speedwork; most of my runs in the Ghost were daily miles between 7:00 and 7:15 pace.” I never run in high 12 mm drop trainers except when I’m testing the Ghost or the Wave Rider but I have to admit that I enjoy the high drop. It feels like the shoe is assisting me through transitions, making runs feel easier than lower-drop shoes. I’m a heel striker so the high drop works with my mechanics but I think that midfoot/forefoot strikers might find the 12 mm drop annoying. The upper has been tweaked to provide a more secure fit, but feels similar to me, with ample cushioning around the heel and collar, and a solid-plastic heel counter to create more stability. The Brooks 15 comes in a wide range of sizes and widths, and fits me true to size. The Brooks Ghost 15 is a traditionally shaped running shoe that continues as a good selection for new runners, walkers, and people who are on their feet during the day. It is a high drop, moderately cushioned trainer that uses traditional shaping and a single density midsole to provide a relatively stable neutral platform for runners wanting a no-frills trainer. Skratch Recovery, Coffee Flavor:Mental and physical boost post run. Coffee flavor is excellent and goes great straight into a fresh brewed cup
