The Caffenu® cleaning capsule was specifically developed for the Nespresso® system and is 100% compatible with ALL Nespresso® machines including but not limited to The best way to descale your Nespresso® machine is by using a descaling tablet (either an original from Nespresso® or a cheaper alternative). Dissolve the tablet in fresh water in the filled water tank, insert the water tank in the machine and start the descaling program. You do not have to worry about losing the warranty on your machine through using compatible pods for Nespresso®. We rarely hear of machines breaking down because of compatible pods - even when we sell more than 100,000 compatible pods a week.

The coffees inside the pods come from many different parts of the world and have their very own unique taste. The unique taste of every coffee begins to form from the moment the coffee bean ripens inside the coffee berry. This routinely doesn’t work on the first try, but don’t worry! Make sure you eject the used capsule (open and close the lid). If it still doesn’t work, open and close the lid and try again. It can take several tries, and try different speeds of pressing the button three times in two seconds (trust me, it’s not broken). You should clean your Nespresso machine to keep it running smoothly for a long time and to ensure you have the best-tasting coffee. Wipe down the machine’s exterior and clean the water tank, drip tray, and capsule container at least a few times a week. You should also descale the machine every three months, or as soon as you notice differences in coffee taste. Pour your descaling solution in according to the manufacturer's instructions. Vinegar and water may also be used if the owner's manual for your machine says it will not cause harm. Next, place an extra-large cup or mug underneath the machine's spout. Hold down both buttons on the top of the machine for three seconds. The Nespresso machine will then enter a descaling cycle. This will take a few minutes. No! You don’t need special cleaners or chemicals when cleaning your Nespresso Vertuo; plain old soap and water will do just fine! However, if you do want to use special cleaning products made specifically for espresso machines, make sure they are non-abrasive so as not to damage any internal components of your device. Also note that some detergents contain chlorine which could leave behind an unpleasant taste in your coffee – so only use these products if necessary! I realized my fatal mistake when having coffee with coworkers. A friend mentioned how much she love her Nespresso coffee maker and that cleaning it on a regular basis wasn’t so bad… when my mouth dropped! I’ll admit it, I have never run the descaling process on my Breville Nespresso Vertuo model. But I have to give myself grace – my machine didn’t have an unpleasant smell, my morning coffee tasted the same as always and I didn’t have a warning light! This is a strong, full-bodied coffee with some complexity of flavour and a mild sweetness. It’s robust and may not be for all tastes, but milk adds roundness. One expert praised its pleasantly rich flavour with notes of dark chocolate. Another commended the lovely aroma and crema. Find out which compostable pods we loved - log in or join Which?.

Original machines: push the two-cup button three times and watch for the lights to flash. No issues with this type, phew. A general recommendation is to descale a coffee machine every three months or after every used 300 pods. However, this depends on your water hardness levels (harder water = more frequent descaling). If you notice a difference in coffee taste or that the coffee is running slower than usual don’t wait three months but descale as soon as you can. How To Descale A Nespresso MachineSince starting the FASTer Way to Fat Loss, with intermittent fasting, my morning coffee time has been more important than ever. I wake up early when the rest of the house is asleep, make my coffee and catch up on reading, or writing in total quiet! I love resetting my day like this, but was truthfully stumped when I realized that I never thought to clean my machine! If you follow me on IG, you know I post my coffee in stories almost every day! Rinse the drip tray and clean visible debris from the side containers weekly or as often as needed.

When it comes time to clean, just refill the reservoir and run the cycle after you’ve made your morning coffee. It’s automatic and hands off, so no reason to dread! There is a huge selection of pods for Nespresso®. For the Nespresso® machine you can get both Nespressos® own coffee pods and compatible pods from many other coffee manufacturers. There is a huge selection from which to find the capsule that best suits you. Don’t leave the used capsule in the holder; open and close the lid to drop the used capsule into the container for trash. If you leave the old capsule in the machine head, you’ll get more coffee residue in your cup (I learned this the hard way).Regular cleaning of a Nespresso machine will ensure you have the best-tasting coffee. Moreover, you’ll extend the life of your Nespresso coffee machine. How Should You Clean Your Nespresso Machine? Put the machine into descaling mode — You have to press different buttons to turn on the descaling mode. This varies by machine model: Tip: note how many pods your case holds and make a judgement based on that, for example, you may have to run through it twice before cleaning. In addition, your Nespresso® machine brews so much coffee that it can often cause dirt and bacteria to build up in the system. Not only is this unhygienic, it also affects the taste of your coffee.

For good maintenance of your capsule machine it is important that you descale it regularly. We recommend that you descale your machine once a month, depending on where you live. The amount of limescale in the water differs from area to area. Some will have a lot of limescale in the tap water, whereas others will have very little. Get started by removing the water tank and emptying its contents. Submerge the water tank in warm soapy water and give it a good clean using a cloth. Rinse it with clean water and put it to one side. Move onto the cup holder and remove it so that you can wash it in soapy water. Next, remove all other washable parts such as the capsule holder and the drip tray before rinsing them, drying with a cloth, and returning them to the machine. By descaling your machine you extend the life of the machine. You also ensure the coffee is always made to the correct temperature and volume in your cup. In addition, you also ensure a better water flow in the machine, reduce machine noise and prevent malfunctions. Clean other parts of the Nespresso machine — This is a good time to clean the capsule container and drip tray and wipe down the machine.

Looking for Nespresso Outlet?

In the beginning it was only possible to make coffee with the original Nespresso® pods in the Nespresso® machine. Today there are plenty of cheaper alternatives - compatible pods. The hardness of the water in Denmark means that our coffee machines and kettles often become calcified. So remember to descale it at least every 3 months - depending on how much you use it, of course.
