Ridiculously Cute Critter: Benkei, the baby Troodon Suzume is temporarily charged with taking care of. In fact, this event triggered a dinosaur boom, in which dinosaurs once again marched to the forefront of pop culture. Dino fans will probably enjoy the educational aspects as each chapter educates about a different creature.

Disaster Dominoes: The incident in 2006 where an Allosaurus almost escaped was only possible due to a number mistakes that added up. Dinosaur Sanctuary is an excellent manga that will delight long-time dinosaur fans and those who love unique slice-of-life scenarios. On voit aussi le côté management du parc et notamment son côté économique avec toutes les contraintes qui vont avec et je ne m'y attendais vraiment pas. If you like Jurassic Park, but want a way more laidback version this is definitely the manga for you! This volume features six chapters which make up four stories (as two of them are two-parters), plus several shorter stories/scenes at the close of the book. It was also amazing to hear the depth of collaboration between the scientific consultant and the author to get the dinosaurs and science right. Lost World: The premise of the manga is that a remote island ecosystem where dinosaurs survived until the modern day was discovered in 1946, preserving a small population of dinosaurs from extinction.

Dinosaur Sanctuary is a series I can see not only appealing to fans of dinosaur-related media, but to paleontologists and zookeepers as well given its fairly accurate portrayal of the dinosaurs and of the day-to-day life of zookeeping. The backstory is briefly given that there was some sort of Lost World discovery of living dinosaurs, and on top of that further species were brought back via genetic manipulations (of what source DNA seems unclear). For example, T-Rex is portrayed as being fully feathered, despite the concept still being a heavily debated one amongst paleontologists.

The manga depicted dinosaurs as animals with specialised needs in captivity, as most wild animals are, but generally no more (and no less) troublesome than most modern animals found in zoos. While the creators of Dinosaur Sanctuary have provided some groundwork for interpersonal drama and character development in the story, it is very clear that the dinosaurs are the real stars of the series. She has just started working as a zookeeper at Enoshima Dinoland, 15 years after the terrible accident that occurred there. Firstly, the dinosaurs are incredibly rendered; really spectacular dinosaur art in ways you don’t normally see dinosaurs due to the everyday realistic stories of life in a zoo.But then, those people are weird, so don't worry about it if you like sharing what you're reading with others. Furthermore the framing story of the flashback helps establish more of the backstory of two our of our main dinosaur keeper characters, and why their work with dinosaurs means so much to them. TLDR; young girl with passion for dinosaurs never grew up and became a dinosaur zookeeper in her twenties. If the concept of a dinosaur zoo reminds you of a certain film franchise, well, it’s almost impossible not to think of Jurassic Park while reading Dinosaur Sanctuary. It's too easy to portray dinosaurs as just "terrible lizards" when there's so much more too them than just that, as is the case with any living creature.
