I thought that I had a good grasp of the concepts involved but gained a much more thorough understanding of scripting by the time that I finished this book. Several years ago I heard about ‘Head First’ books from O’Reilly, which explain popular programming languages in a brain-friendly style for beginners. The remaining chapters were good for helping me learn how JavaScript is different from other languages I already know.
