Now I can see that it’s more in-depth and more informative than Head First, but it’s difficult to begin learning JS from it without any previous experience or general understanding.

The content is engaging, I loved doing the exercises, and I feel like a learned a lot working through this book. This may be a reflection of my learning style though, I think there's a good chance that I'll get more mileage out of this book once I've mastered the basics. I remembered when one of my friends recommended this series to me as the best place I can start learning with it; thus I bought a paper copy of ‘Head First, JavaScript programming’ and launched a new journey with it. Those books would list all basic knowledge meticulously with old-hat examples and countless code pages. But don't be fooled; you might be having a good time while you're learning JavaScript, but you're still learning all the serious stuff. Chapter Five is all about objects; get a sense of what you’ll be learning about objects with this video. The practice exercises are pretty straightforward, not too steep a learning curve for anyone new to programming. Writing Real Code: This chapter’s all about computational thinking: taking a problem and breaking it down into logic that you can implement with JavaScript. Each video walks you through a quick overview of what’s coming up in the next chapter, points out what to watch out for or take special note of as you work through the chapter, and what big ideas you should take away.

The way its laid out is great for beginners as it takes you by the hand and leads you through different parts of the JS world. Methods Five fresh-frozen human cadaveric specimens were instrumented from L2–pelvis, maintaining all osteoligamentous structures, with bilateral titanium 6. Great place to start if one wants to learn programming fundamentals like functions, arrays, objects, methods in Javascript. The interactive assignments are perfect if if you are a right-brained individual, or a person that wants a different learning approach to JavaScript.International products have separate terms, are sold from abroad and may differ from local products, including fit, age ratings, and language of product, labeling or instructions. In terms of the style, this may be part of the Head First series but they take a fun, light approach drawing from pop culture and some lighthearted humor.

The only issue is that it's too old now in 2022 with JavaScript being in ECMAScript 6 (Since 2015) Supplement this book with Free Code Camp to get brought up to speed if you are reading this book. Head First JavaScript offers one of the clearest guide to understanding the language basics and takes the reader to some of the advanced features of the language in a very helpful way. Additionally, their sections on using firebug and debugging techniques (code commenting, a checklist of common mistakes to check when not sure what's wrong proved valuable).

When not glued to his computer, skateboarding, playing hockey, or watching movies with his wife, Masheed, Michael enjoys hanging out by his koi pond.

I thought that I had a good grasp of the concepts involved but gained a much more thorough understanding of scripting by the time that I finished this book. If you've ever read a "Head First" book, you know what to expect - a visually rich format designed for the way your brain works. and learn the dark arts of programming languages to really get my career moving again - and these reviews have really helped. JavaScript is one of the most popular languages in the world, and it's only getting more popular as the Web continues to grow. Oh yeah, if you pick up this book, be prepared to laugh and come with a sense of humor, this isn't a dry old tome of a book, its a great laugh while you learn!

Several years ago I heard about ‘Head First’ books from O’Reilly, which explain popular programming languages in a brain-friendly style for beginners. The remaining chapters were good for helping me learn how JavaScript is different from other languages I already know. As an older starter in web programming technology I found this book extremely useful and easy to understand, like other head first books that I have had.
