Description

New Venus sizes are measured in Espresso Cups (1 Oz). Coffee can be enjoyed in Espresso Cups or in larger containers: for example, a 4-cup Venus will fill a mug nicely. Your Bialetti Venus is cleansed by rinsing every component with simple water. Do not use any detergent. Dishwasher-use is not recommended. I also experimented with filling half full with water and grounds, and the coffee is definitely different but I still like it a lot, so that'll work when I need to make one drink for myself. I get 75-85 ml of coffee out using 100 ml water in the bottom and filling the basket to the halfway line. On a side note the replacement filter screen that comes with the gaskets is a cheap aluminum facsimile of the original stainless steel one. AVOID THIS REPLACEMENT PRODUCT. It states it is made in Italy but looks Chinese. You will be disappointed.

Finally, watch the gush of steam and froth at the end of the brew time — if it is too aggressive you risk turning the coffee bitter. Both Peet's® Big Bang whole bean and Lavazza Crema e Gusto (espresso grind) work wonderfully in this unit. In fact, I was surprised that the Peet's gives Lavazza a run for its money, price-wise. Simply a wonderful cup of coffee to look forward to every morning! It’s really important that you don’t use the handle while unscrewing as this can cause the handle to break. Contrary to what many are saying about initial use, i did wash the individual parts in very hot soapy dishwater and rinsed carefully before i used it for the first time. To be blunt — not following through on this step is just plain gross. You have no idea what this unit went through during the manufacturing process, or how many people handled it and under what conditions. Wash the damn thing in soapy water before you use it. After that, it requires minimal maintenance. If your beans are ground more finely, the brew time will take a bit longer because the steam extraction is forced through a more dense grind. DO NOT TAMP THE COFFEE OR RUSH THE BREW PROCESS. 2-3 minutes actual brew time once the coffee starts percolating out of the top chamber port is key. Espresso grind may be too fine for this pot. It should be a bit more coarse but still finely ground. Experiment and take notes on the settings for your particular grinder. Also, any tips on cleaning? For normal aluminum moka pots, I saw you are supposed to remove and clean the gasket. But for the Venus, I don't see how to remove the gasket. And taking the basket out of the bottom part when there are grounds in it is kind of messy. None of the videos I've seen on these moka pots have shown the cleaning step, which would be nice. I am considering getting a Bialetti New Venus, one of their stainless steel moka pots. I have only ever made drip coffee before, and thought this could be a fun way to try making something stronger. I had a few questions: It works in exactly the same way as a classic stovetop espresso maker (put water in the bottom chamber, freshly ground coffee in the middle, heat on the stove to send coffee bubbling up into the top chamber) – but is sleekly made from high-quality 18/10 stainless steel rather than the classic faceted aluminium. Before using the coffeemaker for the first time, it’s a good idea to wash all the parts in hot water first. The Bialetti Venus is NOT dishwasher safe. Venus is the ultimate combination of tradition and innovation: the original coffee maker to prepare an authentically aromatic Italian coffee, in a unique design shape also available for induction cooktops.

Periodically clean the internal sides of the column in the top part of the pot ensuring no build up of coffee residues. The stylish Italian brand Bialetti brings luxury coffee makers to the market. You will find percolators, cafetieres, milk frothers and more in the broad Bialetti collection, including some of their most famous products, such as the Bialetti Moka Express. The brand delivers very high quality products that ensure a luxurious look in your kitchen. Bialetti's products are authentically Italian and can be found in 9 out of 10 Italian kitchens! Since its formation, Bialetti has been one of the largest players in the coffee maker market. Choosing BIaletti is a choice for quality! Bialetti Moka ExpressA functional style with a practical, drip-less pouring spout, it is c onstructed from food grade 18/10 stainless steel and has an ergonomic, heat-resistant handle with secure anti-slip grip and features Bialetti’s patented safety valve. The instructions say not to use detergents, but I've seen a fair bit of argument about this for both aluminum and stainless steel. Do you use soap on your stainless steel moka pots? The argument that you don't want coffee oils hanging out in the pot and going rancid makes sense to me, so I have been using soap. I watched some videos that said to remove the gasket for cleaning and storage, but I haven't been able to get the gasket out. It seems like I'd have to pry it out somehow, but I'm worried about damaging it. Loosely fill the funnel with your favourite ground coffee. (We recommend a medium-fine grind. Medium-fine will feel gritty when rubbed between your fingers, not powdery).

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I did look around and didn't find that much discussion about the New Venus. There was one post from a year ago that was positive, but it sounded like the New Venus had just come out so I was wondering if anyone could comment on its durability now that it's been a while. Experience the Italian way of preparing a tasteful coffee with the Bialetti Venus Pot, with its unique shape and long-lasting materials. The historic gentleman with the moustache on its front is a guarantee of the originality and quality of a Bialetti product. What exactly does "6-cup" mean here? Is it how much water you put in? How many oz/ml output can I expect per "cup"? The valve is solid - no issues. Some people have complained about a whistling noise; i can state that if you follow the instructions you will not have a problem. The valve itself is manufactured in Italy.

How much coffee do I use for 4 cups?

Update 2: I'm really enjoying the 4-cup Venus so far. The coffee is great, and I find it a lot more fun to use than my coffee machine.
