Images and video is written to removable SD, SDHC or SDXC card, with available ISO range modestly ranging from ISO100 and 1600 in full auto mode, or up to ISO3200 if in any of the P, A, S, M options selectable with a twist of the top plate shooting mode dial. The B500’s flash has a quoted range of 6.9 metres, which might suggest they’re the same, but the B700’s flash is physically bigger and I wouldn’t mind betting that the B500’s flash specification is quoted at a higher ISO rating. Either way, the flash is useful for close subjects and fill-in illumination, but won’t be of much use to you with the lens zoomed in much beyond a portrait focal length of around 80-100mm equivalent. The Nikon Coolpix B700's maximum shutter speed is 15 seconds, which is good news if you're seriously interested in night photography. The shot below was taken using a shutter speed of 1 second at ISO 100. The Coolpix B700 offers various shooting modes, including manual, aperture priority, shutter priority, and fully automatic modes, allowing photographers to have full control over their images. It also has a high-speed continuous shooting capability of up to 5 frames per second, ensuring that fast-paced moments can be captured effortlessly. If a movie was recorded in “U (User settings) mode” with RAW + Fine or RAW + Normal for Image quality, the Image quality option stored using Save user settings would change to RAW.

Note: Be sure to copy the “firmware” folder to the root (top-most) directory of the memory card. The camera will not recognize the new firmware if it is placed in a folder under the root directory. Fixed an issue that sometimes resulted in location data added using the SnapBridge app not displaying correctly. Manual transfer using the Bluetooth connection means you only get the keepers on your phone, but it involves a bit more time and effort, not least because the slow Bluetooth connection means it can take a long time to display thumbnails of all the images on the camera’s card on your phone screen, find and select the ones you want, then queue them for transfer. I’d go far as to say if you’re not using SnapBridge’s Bluetooth connection for automatic image transfer, you’re probably better off using Wifi if you want to manually transfer selected images. Up to 4x (angle of view equivalent to that of approx. 5760 mm lens in 35 mm [135] format), Up to 2x when Movie options is set to 2160/30p or 2160/25p (angle of view equivalent to that of approx. 2880 mm lens in 35 mm [135] format) The Nikon COOLPIX B700 is an SLR-styled super-zoom with a 60x optical zoom lens. The lens covers a range from 24mm to 1440mm in 35mm equivalent terms and has a maximum aperture of f3.3 closing to f6.5 at the telephoto end of the zoom.

The COOLPIX B700’s lens has a 60x optical range starting at 24mm and extending to 1440mm in 35 equivalent numbers. If you want to see what that looks like practice take a look at the two images below which show the coverage at either end of the range. There is a dial to adjust shutter speed and / or aperture depending on which mode you are in. In manual mode you can use this dial, as well as the rear scroll wheel so that you can adjust shutter and aperture directly. The rear scroll wheel can be used for cycling through the menus. Surrounding this wheel is the d-pad to access exposure compensation, macro mode, self-timer and the flash.Have a look at more ultra-zoom bridge cameras in our Top 10 Best Ultra Zoom Bridge Cameras. You'll also need to buy a memory card and a case or bag to keep your camera safe and protected - have a look at our complete guide to camera bags. A device with Bluetooth ® 4.0 or later (i.e., a device that supports Bluetooth Smart Ready/Low Energy) is required. Paired with the 1/2.3-inch type sensor is a 4.3-258mm lens, which provides the 35mm equivalent field of view of a 24-1440mm lens. The lens' maximum aperture range is f/3.3-6.5, and it includes sixteen elements in eleven groups. There are four ED lens elements and one super ED element in this 60x optical zoom Nikkor ED lens. Fixed an issue that prevented the camera charging when connected to an AC charging adapter with Off selected for Charge by computer. Built-in Wi-Fi and NFC has been joined by low-power Bluetooth making it possible to transfer images to your smartphone using less power, as well as remotely control the camera (over Wi-Fi).

The menus are clearly laid out, with each section getting its own main section logo, starting with the photo options, then the video options, etc. This makes it easy to change and find settings, however, the clarity could probably be improved if the menu sections were colour coded, rather than just being the same colour as each other.Visit us and you'll always find a friendly welcome.
