Sounds minor, but trust us, if you have big feet (like us) – it’s important! The foot-switches on the Circle are a good distance apart, so there’s a slim change of you pressing the wrong one by mistake. A godsend for gigging!! DigiTech Trio+ Band Creator and Looper Pedal is not only a loop station but truly a band in a box with its combined bass and drum rhythms for any chord progression you play into it. The pedal features a virtual band creator allowing you to select from 12 different genres. You can create up to 5 song parts and 12 songs in total. In conclusion of this Donner Circle Looper Pedal Review I can say that it earns its place as a versatile, user-friendly, and musically enriching device. This is a common syndrome for guitar pedal manufacturers; Digitech is similarly guilty. It's as if they don't hire drummers, or even musicians, to make the beats! Minutes Recording Capacity: The total recording capacity of 160 minutes ensures you won’t run out of space for your musical ideas.

I've narrowed it down to these two, but I'm open to other suggestions. They seem pretty similar, but here's some pros and cons. In regards to foot-switches, both pedals are made of metal & feel substantial enough to stand on. Neither of these pedals feel cheap by any means. Form factor– In comparison to its rivals, the Donner Circle is reasonably travel friendly. It’s footprint is small at just 12.1cm x 5.6cm x 9.9cm (Width x Height x Depth), as is its weight. For a looper pedal with 2 foot-switches, a screen, 2 volume-type knobs 7 a whole host of inputs/ outputs, a curb weight of less than 400g is impressive!! On the subject of screens, the difference is pretty clear. The Donner has one, while the Trio just relies on clusters of LED lights. For this alone, the Circle is (in our opinion) more user friendly.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

After trying many of the major brand loopers, such as TC Electronics, BOSS, and Singular Sound I just felt frustrated. Three years later and I still don’t have a reliable or easy to use looping pedal in my board, whats going on ? After all, what I am doing is not really that complex in either a live situation or jamming at home. Compressors, volume pedals, filters, wah, pitch shifters should be used as the first step of the p signal chain. Overdrive and distortion pedals should be the second step, and the modulation effects such as chorus, phasers, flangers should be used as the third party of your pedal chain. The last step is the time-based effects like reverb and delays, as they must be the final effect pedals your instrument’s signal should travel to. Just like Flamma FS21, Boss RC-5 also supports stereo sound, and both are compact pedals, with Boss being a bit more compact. Boss also supports PC connection for audio file imports and exports. I haven’t used the USB computer interface yet, but along with Donner’s free software, it promises to open up a whole new world of possibilities in editing & importing/exporting recorded files. Fairly easy to use. Didn't need the manual much except to explain how to slave the drum machine to the loop, and it also explains the software interface.

Just remember if your a beginner you need to think about your timing when it comes to looping – play something simple first and try looping that – build your confidence first. In my mind its perfect for beginners because it has the metronome and drum machine. Focus on your timing and the looping will follow. However, the Donner takes the lead when it comes to foot-switches & overall control. While the RC-5 has 1 single foot-switch, the Circle has 2 (4 counting the control knobs which also function as buttons). KHZ 24bit Looper: The pedal boasts a high-quality 44.1kHz 24-bit looper, ensuring top-notch audio quality for your recordings and loops.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Undoubtably our answer would be yes. Ask us & the Donner Circle is more than worth it for most loopers. So while it may not have the most features of any looping pedal, nor be the best suited to serious looping pros, as a piece of looping kit for beginners goes, it’s pretty much ideal. Here’s just a few things that we think makes the Circle looper stand out… There’s a function to ensure that your loops are saved whenever the looper is turned off. Reassuring to know. If your musical style demands longer loop times, exceeding the 4-minute limit, you might need to explore other loopers with extended recording capabilities. While this pedal is versatile, it may not cater to compositions that require extensive looping. True Bypass Preferences
