Description

The Audio Technica ATN3600L Replacement Stylus for AT3600L stands as an embodiment of precise sound engineering and quality performance.

Like the AT3600L, it is well matched to high-mass arms and the heavier end of medium-mass arms, although the AT91 performed well on the lighter SL1200 arm. quadraphonic systems never really caught on with consumers, but they have helped to speed up the development of stylus types that improve playback of stereo records in the form of a more precise treble reproduction, lower distortion, and less record wear.

This time, I used it on my Technics SL1200 Mk5 turntable in my main system, the set-up on which this review is based. Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). The red grip is the Pfanstiehl; the white stylus that I put in the Pfanstiehl package is the original stylus. Retaining Audio Technica's iconic design qualities, the ATN3600L replacement stylus sports a sleek, streamlined construction. The lighter and stiffer the material, the better and more accurately the cantilever can transmit vibration. I was a bit worried about the sound quality but once on these are far beyond what I was expecting from these brand. The sound is okay, but should I consider upgrading a) for sound quality, and b) reduced wear and tear on my vinyl?I'm not challenging or questioning any moderation decision, as to the best of my knowledge, there hasn't been any moderation of this thread. Stylus should be good for 400 hours, after that I would replace the stylus with a nude black diamond which are cheap as chips they track much lighter and sound great. This is designed to preserve the details of the record groove structure for a very long time — virtually for the life of the vinyl.

The net balance is on the warm side of neutral, thanks to the plucky bass, but there is also an easiness to the sound coming from the smooth midrange and soft-ish treble. A big part of the spirit of Audio Karma is sharing knowledge and helping others get the most out of out shared hobby. With the ATN3600L stylus, you can expect a consistently high playing quality, even with extensive usage. Whether you need a versatile 4-in-1 remote or a duplicate that's as close as possible to the original, we've got you covered. The ATN3600L stylus delivers consistent playing quality, significantly enhancing your music sessions. The AT91 lacks the charm-factor of its two siblings but certainly has a wow-factor, which some listeners may prefer. What wasn't obvious to me, from those first two photos was, is there even a slot in those bodies to accommodate the plastic tab on the stylus. It is of course a really strange situation: Audio Technica makes the AT3600L, but doesn't sell it to consumers, only to turntable manufacturers.

Its capability to track grooves optimally brings forth the complex layers of music, rendering a gratifying listening encounter. The measurements indicate this is a biradial or hyperelliptical shape (basic line contact), so the name ViVid Line is most likely just marketing on the part of LP Gear. Rumor has it that this particular stylus is a hyperelliptical made by JICO, given the characteristic blue dot on the underside of the cantilever.

Audio Technica understands this balance and, thus, fabricates the ATN3600L stylus from rigid materials that can withstand the intense demands of record players. For example, the rolloff you describe could originate from a "subsonic" type high pass filter in your phono stage.
