The artistic elements are extreme, this book has a lot of text so I would not recommend students to read on their own, however doing it as a class and integrating it with content and a lesson plan would be a fun filled week. He learns things like how to say important phrases in their language, where the capital is, what their weather is like, what the country is famous for and much more! I loved this book and learning more about the countries and thought it was such a cute idea to have the reader follow along with a kid to learn about the countries. Along the way, he introduces us to each friend’s environment and customs, and shares interesting facts about each country’s culture, language, food, geography, wildlife, landmarks and more.

This book would be a great tool to incorporate into the classroom because it represents view points from so many places around the world and gives students exposure to all kinds of different cultures. This book is short (31 pages) but I think it gives the readers a good variety of information about each country to intrigue and inform them about how that nation is special. All of the illustrations in this picture book are all bright and very fun to look at with specializing each location the boy was at with objects and colors to represent that country.

The book gives plenty of information about each country such as the environment, weather, animals, and even includes some words from the language spoken there. This is exactly what we were looking for to teach my 6 year old a little bit about other countries and world cultures (on a broad overview with quick fun facts).
