Description

The Orient Mako II features the Orient Caliber F6922 automatic movement, which is an in-house movement developed and produced by Orient Watch Co., Ltd. This movement is highly regarded for its accuracy and reliability, as well as for its value for money. There are obvious pros and cons with the Orient Mako II FAA00202D9, however this piece has something that many watches try for but can’t achieve. The congruence of all its disparate elements, good and bad, result in a wearing experience that’s greater than the sum of its parts. It’s like taking the recipe for a delicious dish – you isolate the ingredients and eat them on their own and it’s most likely going to be weird (you ever eaten raw cumin before?). This problem has been fixed with the release of the Orient Mako II which features an Orient F6922 calibre.

It has a great finish, a high-performing in-house automatic movement, a classic dive watch design, and great attention to detail. Enter: Orient Mako II. Orient’s answer to the movement-centric woes of the watchfam is the new Orient F6922 caliber. Although Orient has been pioneering advancements within their in-house movement manufacturing, these improvements were only really available within the Orient Star line or the highest tier (and rarely seen) Royal Orients. Entry level Orient pieces weren’t seeing the movement love. That ends with the Orient Mako II. If you want/could want to upgrade the bracelet, to my knowledge there is no fitted end link bracelet that fits the USA II. As posted before, by other members, strapcode has many options available for the Kamasu. Orient Watch Co. Ltd. is a Japanese brand that's passionate about crafting high-quality, accurate, and affordable mechanical watches. Since its founding in 1950, Orient has grown into one of the world's largest manufacturers of mechanicalThe dial of the Mako II is everything you’d expect it to be. It features applied markings that are lined in thin metal, and are filled with lume. Which performs really well, considering the price point.

More than a decade later, Orient finally granted our wishes and came out with the Mako II – a similar watch to the original, but with an upgraded movement. After mods: I first got the LIW coin edge bezel for the Ray/Mako (also fits the Mako USA) with the LIW fully lumed ceramic Pepsi insert. Didn't like the red so got the new blue ceramic fully lumed insert Marc now sells from his blue Islander watch. Looks much better now IMO. Avoid setting the date on your F6922 watch within the hours of 8:00pm to 4:00am. In Orient Watch USA’s own words

There are two faces to know if you’re searching for a Mako in a sea of Orient watches. There would also be variations of a single model mainly the regular version and the USA version. So, you’ll probably see a Mako and a Mako USA, as well as a Mako II and a Mako USA II. So what sets these versions apart from each other and from other Orient watches? 1. Look x 47mm x 13mm – beautifully classic case shape with excellent mix of polished and brushed surfaces – bezel can be hard to turn at times Dial The Orient 46943 was born and has been in continued production since. The 46943 was already 30 years old when it debuted in the original 2004 Orient Mako, so the inclusion of the new Orient F6922 caliber in the Orient Mako II is huge news. Before we start talking about specific functions, let’s compare movement specs at a high level. Orient 46943 vs Orient F6922 Orient 46943 Specs When it comes to the finishing, Orient has done a great job which makes it appear more expensive than it actually is. The top of the case is satin-brushed on the top and has a circular finish. The sides, however, have a beautiful polished contrasting finish which shows that Orient has really paid attention to the details. In addition, the way the polished meets the brushed surface is done to perfection with a perfect transition. Orient Watch Co., Ltd. recommends that the watch be serviced every 3-5 years to maintain its accuracy and reliability. However, the exact service interval may vary depending on the usage and conditions of the watch. Can the Orient Mako II be used as a dive watch? Is it waterproof?

Its 200-meter water resistance rating, day-date display, and luminescent markers make it a highly functional watch suitable for everyday wear and diving. Its classic design and versatile style make it a great choice for anyone looking for a reliable and stylish dive watch. The FAA02002D9 is of course water-resistant. In fact to 200m/660 feet. This means it is suitable for both diving and swimming. DialThe Orient Mako II is one of the most popular affordable dive watches on the market. In fact, looking closer at this watch will reveal that it offers exceptional value for money and that there are few other dive watches in the same price range that have robust in-house movements, great finish, solid build quality, and great attention to detail. Still, I can’t help but smile each time I use it and it’s become one of the more distinctive features of the older Orient Makos. I should also mention that although Orient doesn’t test the watch per ISO 6425 standards, the Mako still provides 200 meters of water resistance and that’s more than enough in my book. This keeps the price of the watch affordable compared to more expensive timepieces that use sapphire crystal. On top of the case, it has a flat crystal that sits close to the bezel and creates a seamless look. We have seen some sources that state that it has a sapphire crystal, but this is not correct. In fact, the FAA02002D9 uses mineral glass. This is not as tough as sapphire, but it does the job, and considering the watch’s price point, a sapphire crystal is not something we can take for granted. Orient offers a diverse collection of watches, including Orient sports watches, Orient diver watches, skeleton watches, and collections for both men and women. Their Orient Mako Automatic collection features professional-grade diver watches that can withstand water up to 200 meters. For women, Orient has a unique collection of elegant and beautiful watches that are both fashionable and robust.
