Description

The bobber twists into place, making contact with a couple small charging pins in the base of the unit. Non-personalized content and ads are influenced by things like the content you’re currently viewing and your location (ad serving is based on general location). The iBobber is a castable fish finder; instead of using a control head, the unit is controlled via an app on your phone.

iBobber is a wireless sonar for fishing with a Bluetooth connection that allows you to pair it with your smartphone. Selected lines only, determined by size, weight or whether delivered direct from one of our suppliers.Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). The item may be missing the original packaging or protective wrapping, or may be in the original packaging but not sealed. The app allows you to log the details of your fishing escapades using GPS Tags and the Trip Log features. The iBobber showed some fish that were not visible on the Garmin but since none went after our bait I could not validate the iBobber’s fish findings.

Next, the instructions (page 5) tell you to check for a firmware update on page 26 (it’s really on page 25). You will be able to save details of all your fishing adventures with the Trip Log, and share it all on social media. This view is the closest to traditional sonar charts you’ll get with the iBobber—to be honest, this is one of the few times we prefer fish icons.

In a better, more enlightened universe, that might mean that you could download charts for your iBobber. Just tap any GPS Tag button on any screen and the Date, Time, and Location of your trip auto-loads in Trip Log. It connects via Bluetooth at up to 30 meters away so your fish finder is a very practical mobile device. The scree slowly scrolls to the left after each second, so one full screen holds the current sonar, -1 second, -2 second, and -3 second sonar. By doing so, you’re able to see the waterbed on your sonar screen, with all of its peaks and valleys.

However the iPhone blue tooth connection uses up lots of phone battery so I suggest having a way to charge your phone on extended trips. Bluetooth Smart is designed for short messages from nearby devices such as temperature sensors, proximity sensors, and medical devices such as heart monitors, and now sonar signals. This amount includes seller specified domestic postage charges as well as applicable international postage, dispatch, and other fees. Not so with the iBobber—you have to go to “Waterbed mapping”, start mapping, and slowly reel your iBobber in. I have not yet had a chance to try the iBobber in a lake from a boat or shore, or while ice fishing. That means you can take the iBobber anywhere you want to fish—shore fishing, kayak fishing, and anywhere else you could bring your phone and an incredibly small fish finder. For those unfamiliar the iBobber is a castable bluetooth fishfinder that syncs up to a smartphone or tablet.
