If there is something I would have wanted it would have been a little more precise settings on the speaker for room treatment. I have it set on max boost on the low frequencies and max decrease on the highs. And I think I would have turned them even more if I had the chance. I guess I just have to treat my room a little more but I am satisfied with the sound now We have some data point from the Harman team comparing different speakers with different PIR shapes and EQing targets but this not as detailed as the first paper. Fortunately for producers of music with warp-factor bass, ADAM offers a range of subwoofers for, in their own words, ’lower bass – not louder bass’. Their SUB7 is designed for smaller monitors while the range comprises several models more suited to larger control rooms or workstation environments. Conclusion The colormap provides you the locations with the best (green) and worst (red) listening experience. The first one would be similar to what I would usually do without over doing things. Similar number of biquads I used for the JBL 305p mkII that I used as a reference.

However, the Gear4music extended warranty scheme provides an enhanced service, and is designed to offer a higher level of protection than many 'free' warranties offered by some retailers and manufacturers. For what it’s worth, the T7V is an exceptionally designed monitor. It has some weight to it, it feels solid, and as an added benefit, they look great. Above the inputs is a rotary control for level, stretching from -60 dB to +18 dB. HF and LF shelving filter switches also allow you to filter the highs and lows of the monitors from neutral, -2 dB, and +2 dB. This is why most A-class brands (like SVS, Bang & Olufsen, etc) often come up with room correction features, adjusted either manually or automatically. The EQ adapts itself to the placement (room, corner, center, etc) for a better (deeper and more accurate) sound. Which is great. amirm hasn’t measured it yet (but it on the errands list, I believe) but Audioholics did and provided graphs that I digitized and subsequently used to design some EQs as per usual. The scores are only indicative as the resolution of the scans, although interpolated to a correct 1/20th octave step, is most probably too coarse, especially since we have no information regarding the calculation of the ER which may or may not be off like for the NFS’.

The 7" polypropylene woofer and rear-firing bass reflex port deliver tight, controlled low end response. Powered by a 50w low end amplifier, it offers the perfect balance of smooth bass against the detailed top end of a ribbon tweeter. Exactly what you need for a balanced mix that translates well onto other systems. Perfect integration whatever that might mean, which is the second issue and where I don't quite adhere to the concept. It allows you to compare the performances of different speakers before even laying your ears hands on them. We combined Spinorama data with room acoustics and came up with Soundton. A very simple, 2D online tool that allows you to:I think the KRKs are so overhyped at this point, and fair enough, they’ve certainly earned their place. At a certain point though, when will we stop buying things just because they’re the popular choice? Save yourself the headache and get the T7V. I can say with confidence that the Adams are the best in this price range. They clearly sound as they are "upper shelf" equipment. Additionally they often emphasize the importance of placement, here is an example: https://www.svsound.com/blogs/subwoofer-setup-and-tuning/75365187-the-art-of-subwoofer-placement The T7V has both balanced and unbalanced inputs, as well as controls for adjusting the overall level and the high‑ and low‑frequency response. With a specified SPL rating of up to 110dB per pair at one metre, the available level is more than adequate for the intended nearfield deployment — though there’s no clip LED to warn you if you push things too hard. Furthermore, the power LED is on the rear panel; there’s no power indication visible from the front. In Practice While it is not unreasonable to subject professional monitors to a battery of electronic and audio tests, the real question with more affordable monitors such as these is whether or not they enable you to deliver mixes that translate well to real‑world listening situations. All loudspeaker systems show wrinkles in their frequency and phase response curves, and all ported speakers suffer from some degree of bass overhang — but if the design has been handled with care, these inevitable imperfections shouldn’t be serious enough to compromise your work. And in reality, the effects of imperfect room acoustics and the use of unsuitable speaker platforms (or wobbly stands) often masks the more subtle attributes of the speakers.

The PIR (Predicted In-room Response) is supposed to be a reasonable estimator of the actual in-room response, at least in the frequency range where the speaker is dominating.

A NEW INDUSTRY STANDARD

The idea, I guess, is to compare speakers if the LF extension is literally taken out of the equation, akin the pound-for-pound rating. Firing up the ADAMs and playing some familiar material, I was immediately reminded of what impressed me so deeply about the smaller T5Vs. The treble response is superb, sounding clean and fast with plenty of presence and air. Transients are reproduced with trip-hammer precision yet the presentation is unforced and natural sounding. The U-ART tweeter is fitted to a precision waveguide with the same dispersion-control attributes as the High Frequency Propagation (HPS) waveguide used in ADAM Audio’s flagship S Series studio monitors. The waveguide’s highly uniform dispersion of high frequencies provides an incredibly wide sweet spot that frees you from being glued to a rigid mix position while working. The T7V features a 7-inch woofer which adds to the high-resolution of the stereo image and produces a deep and punchy low end, attributed to the rear-firing bass reflex port. Only one balanced input. An extra TRS input would have been nice. They keep saying this is to keep to cost down, fair enough. But why can a lot of other companies that make models in the same price range do these things but not Adam Audio?

The second one is a bit Over-The-Top (OTT) as it was tantalizing close to break the 7/9 mark. Adam themselves provide a 2dB boost at LF so why not… The calculated scores are not directly comparable to the others form ASR but I would be inclined to say that the EQ benefits are correctly capturedAs a side note I really enjoy not wearing headphones all the time. There is a big difference between headphones and monitors, but in my humble opinion I feel like you can't go wrong with headphones (despite the annoyance of wearing them and not being able to play sound to other people in the room). You might not hear the bass all that well through headphones and you will certainly not feel it but the sound is much more accurate through headphones (if you have good ones). I sort of feel like playing music through my speakers muddies up the sound a bit. The stereo difference is also big and I feel like the monitors brings more warmth and emotion than the very accurate ( and robotic, if you will,) sounding headphones might be doing. It feels like I can pinpoint right where the sound is coming from somewhere between the monitors while in mono and the hardpanned sounds are not as hardpanned! I've been using the DT 770 PRO and i still use them when I want the sound to be more "accurate". If you can afford monitors I would recommend!
