How happy you are with this mouse really depends on how big your hands are and what you’re already used to in terms of mice. So, you’re already using a larger mouse and you’re used to having your hand arch like that in a comfortable position, then MX Anywhere 2 mouse is not going to do a really good job. It’s probably going to make you uncomfortable after a while of use. For shorter travel trips, so if you’re just using this when you’re traveling for a business trip or if you don’t travel too frequently, then it’s going to be probably just enough but for a daily driver for people with large hands who are used to a large mouse, then it’s not going to be ideal. Logitech MX Anywhere 2S

There are two ways to tell how much battery life you have left. The first is in the software, there’s a little indicator in the bottom. So, when you open up the Logitech software, you can get an idea of how much battery life is left. This indicator light on the top will flash green when it’s charged, it will flash yellow when it’s running low, it will start flashing red when it’s really low, and when it’s just pretty much dead it will be a solid red. Logitech MX Anywhere 2S Installation of Logitech Options transforms the middle button into a gesture button you can use to trigger gestures that simplify desktop and application management, media control, document viewing, and personalization of common tasks. Oh yeah the unifying USB receiver recognized my older Logitech keyboard , MK700 and the USB cord has a nice little velcro strap to secure it. Nice touches. Press and hold the connect button on the mouse until the number you selected starts blinking rapidly.

Logitech MX Anywhere 2 - Q&A

I asked Logitech about this perceived acceleration to confirm whether my hunch was correct, and the company provided us with the following statement:

Since the MX Master and MX Anywhere 2 are wireless mice, getting them up and running isn’t quite as simple as plugging a cord into a USB port—but it’s close. To start the pairing process, you choose one of the three onboard profiles by pressing the rearmost button on the base of each mouse, at which point the connection LED begins blinking rapidly. Now, another interesting feature that I know you’ll all love is the Logitech flow which allows you to effortlessly navigate across up to three computers and copy and paste images and files between them. The mouse uses the darkfield laser sensor which costs it to flawlessly work on different surfaces, even transparent glass. The DPI is set up to a maximum of 4000 which means greater precision and sensitivity during normal use.

The main difference between the Anywhere 2 and the MX Anywhere 2s is that the 2s has a longer battery life and the ability to adjust it to a higher sensitivity too. This means that if you’re planning to use the mouse for gaming, then the 2S is going to be the better option. After two hours editing spreadsheets with the Logitech, my right hand started to feel a bit jittery, something that stopped when I switched to a larger mouse. To be fair, this is the inevitable side effect of a compact design and the Anywhere 3 is still the most comfortable compact mouse I’ve ever used. Logitech MX Anywhere 3 review: Should you buy one? You can use the selector button on the bottom of the MX Anywhere 2 wireless mouse to pair it with up to three devices. Not a major issue, but incredibly annoying and time consuming, as I have to wait several seconds at a time for the cursor to reach the spot that I need.

The mouse itself is pretty good. It has multiple computer connection capabilities, and of course, it’s a strong and reliable wireless mouse with a 10m maximum distance for it to work well. A mouse this tiny is really too small to be comfortable for my man hands. Since there’s so little mouse to grab, I usually ended up holding the Anywhere 2 in my fingertips. The texturized rubber sides do feel good under the fingers, as do the main mouse buttons. The scroll wheel is a little notchier than the one on the Master, although I would still prefer more notchiness yet. The MX Master’s telepathic auto-switching scroll wheel is something I sorely miss on my G502 daily driver, and the thumb wheel is something I find myself pining for, as well. Though I didn’t have time to fully test either mouse’s battery life, that’s a compliment: owners shouldn’t have to charge either mouse’s battery often. Both mice worked perfectly on a variety of surfaces, and Logitech’s Options software is well-polished and easy to use, even with multiple mice linked to the same computer. The big, rounded shape of the Master invites a palm grip, though I also found that claw and fingertip-style grips work well. At least for my mitts, it wasn’t difficult to find a comfortable hand position with this mouse. Those complaints aside, both of these mice were good performers for day-to-day work. The three onboard pairing profiles for Bluetooth and Logitech’s own Unifying recievers work seamlessly on both mice, and moving between computers with different wireless protocols and operating systems always went without a hitch. But you’ve probably also noticed the Anywhere 2s is also available, and it seems very similar to the original. Between them, they’re some of the bestselling Logitech mice out there.

The gesture button is a nice idea in theory, but holding down the button and moving the mouse doesn’t always trigger the desired action. I sometimes brought up the Alt+Tab switcher when I meant to do something else, apparently because the mouse or software didn’t sense my movement. Maximizing and restoring windows by moving the mouse up was an especially hit-or-miss gesture for some reason. Mac gestures like desktop switching also didn’t work reliably. I’m not sure why this is, but it’s an idea that needs refinement. The design is pretty sleek, it has this matte finish which is really nice in the hand. It’s very comfortable, I don’t know how well that will hold up over time, it does seem like it will get scuffed easily but I haven’t really noticed that yet in my use and travels. A bit on the pricier side, but a solid mouse that handles your day to day work excellently. The additional features improves productivity greatly, a good mouse to bring for working in any situations. I should also mention the other main difference between them is that the 2S can be used with Logitech Flow, which enables you to use it between alternate computers simultaneously. This can come in handy if you have a laptop and a computer you want to connect it with, and it’s great if you work in an office setting. We've converted this review to Test Bench 1.4. This update modifies our Hand Size Recommendation test, adding a more granular hand size recommendation chart. We've moved several minor tests into different test groups, removed the Travel usage, and added a new Raw Performance usage. For more details, you can see our full changelog here. The mouse is charged via the micro-USB port at the front and supposedly holds a charge for up to 70 days. You can get a full day’s charge from just a four-minute charging session. SOFTWARE: Logitech MX Anywhere 2 That’s not the yes-or-no answer I was hoping for. It’s not much of an answer at all, in fact, but it’s rather telling that Logitech considers these mice “not optimized for gaming.” We don’t think that categorization shields these mice from criticism.
