Retinal tears can be successfully treated to prevent them from developing into a retinal detachment which can cause sight loss, but they do need to be treated promptly. Diagnosis

A PVD will not usually cause your prescription to change, and it’s ok to have an eye examination for new glasses while you have a PVD.
