Mark Waid takes Daredevil to new territories, pairing him up against unusual adversaries like Spot, mega-criminal organizations AIM and Hydra, and two particular Marvel villains that I won't mention to avoid spoilers. Rather than representing clients in the courtroom, Matt and Foggy begin to counsel those who are unable to pay for a lawyer, instead choosing to represent themselves. Daredevil is a great character, but has often been presented as too grim since the Frank Miller era. I loved the way that Mark Waid made Matt Murdock into a more fun-loving and witty character as it had been years since we had seen a more laid back Matt Murdock and it really made reading about him more interesting and fun!

Unfortunately, as is usually the case with modern comic omnibuses, the makers felt the need to add some unnecessary content. The former are great little "where's Waldo" moments of tracing all the little cues that accompany tangential dialogue.

Daredevil Volume 1 was rather bland, but perhaps I'll revisit another Daredevil comic at some point. Paolo Rivera and Marcos Martin’s artwork: Paolo Rivera and Marcos Martin’s artwork are truly creative and colorful to look at and greatly complements the mood of the story! points finger] I am sorry for your loss, but if you genuinely believe that only the death of a loved one can motivate a human being to take up a cause. Matt Murdock is a lot more light-hearted and fun than I was expecting, as I've seen him interpreted as a Batman-esque character who spends more time being serious than cracking a smile. And that made for some interesting stories but at this point, what else could you do to the poor bastard?

However, when he starts asking for the sort of hyper-detailed information that the trope can usually supply, she flatly tells him that she's getting all her info from Google Maps. It's almost definitely an Author Filibuster aimed at fans who think that the only interesting heroes are the Darker and Edgier, angsty, miserable sort, which is a line of thinking that Mark Waid is well-known for hating with a passion, but the speech is still pretty awesome and befitting Daredevil's character. THE FLIP SIDE OF MODERN SUPER HERO CLASSIC COLLECTED IN ONE VOLUME Super villain Max Damage had an epiphany the day his nemesis, The Plutonian destroyed Sky City. This book is good, the art and dialogue is top notch, the book is made/bound well, A+ to Marvel Publishing, the cover under the dust jacket is something to see, really creative. It almost seems like a testament to the power of positive thinking because in the old days if Daredevil tried to break up a hit at a Mafia wedding, he’d probably have ended up covered in the brains of the lucky couple.I'm fascinated by the MacGuffin that Waid introduces at the end of this book, an having seen it show up in Punisher vol. I also appreciate him as a lawyer (which is not something that is said about lawyers very often, if at all). I hope most readers who read Mark Waid's run to have read Daredevil in the past from other creative teams and since the consensus is strongly positive, I feel like **I** am the only one that didn't seem to enjoy it. DD never had the most brilliant rogue gallery that lets say Spider-Man or Batman has, and Waid used that in such a great way making fun of odd villains like Stilt-Man and Owl but also bringing back old skool villains like The Spot and Kirigi, and also creating new ones like Coyote.
