Quite a funny book, you need to go into it understanding it’s nothing but a comedy so therefore it’s quite light hearted and silly. It’s probably easier reading, and easier to laugh, if you are a left of centre reader but the book still makes one think about the state of politics and wonder why the British electorate has let this lot run the country. The anchor didn’t really know what to make of him – what is this regular person doing inside the commentariat?

Mr Morris started the account with the name “Mark ne Francois pas” and used it to parody Tory MP Mark Francois. I look forward to the day when a Labour government at Westminster gets a similar treatment though that seems quite a while away. If you haven’t lived in the UK or followed it’s politics over the 2 years you’d dismiss this as far fetched satirical farce. Sadly while this book started off full of wit and humour (although maybe not quite as laughing-out-loud funny as some of the reviews make it sound) it started to change about halfway through and took a much more partisan tone, occasionally sounding like an AI-generated Guardian opinion column.

After teasing his upcoming reveal on Tuesday, Morris had the whole of Twitter guessing which MP he could be – and then he revealed his identity in a dramatic parody clip where (what else?
