Description

Compared to the Artist 12's slim touch bar, it's easier to control accurately and with more freedom with the 12 Pro's dial wheel, letting you capture and express your ideas faster and more easily.

The above results are from my calibration using my X-Rite ColorMunki Display with DisplayCAL, and I measured that the tablet has a 96% sRGB volume and 90% sRGB coverage. I didn’t have any problems controlling my strokes and making both thin and thick lines was relatively easy. I also find it easier to accept a display tablet with less shortcut buttons than a pen tablet because, quite frankly, there are not very many with more than 8 buttons+wheel. Drawing performance on Windows is good but chances are you need to do some troubleshooting when pressure sensitivity does not work. As a side note, I use a Windows computer, not a Mac, so it appears to me that is not what is causing the issue on her XP-Pen Artist 13 Pro.I have know about the texture and whether one is smooth or textured isn’t a problem since I’m gonna used to it later, and I have known the pen on XP Pen Star 03 isn’t bad since it have Bulge, even though Huion H610pro V2 now use the Comfortable PW100 pen. For the most part, this uneven tapering is not so bad that it affects the drawing process as I did not have a problem doing my review drawing with it, and it should be noted that the pen pressure is perfect in every other situation. With regards to the “occasional purple flashes or lines on the screen”, I believe that can be caused by a defective cable, but it is also possible that the tablet port or screen itself is broken. I would most certainly suggest consulting XP-Pen support about it with a video capturing it happening. I was considering getting a graphics tablet and I am struggling to decide between the Artist 12 Pro and the 15.

The tablet can be powered solely by the computer if your USB port can provide enough power, but if it can’t, the extra red USB type-A connector will need to be connected to another USB port on your computer, or a power outlet using the included power outlet to USB adapter. If you were talking about the XP-Pen Artist 13 (and not the XP-Pen Artist 13 Pro), then the Huion Kamvas Pro 13 is better without a doubt. The pen doesn’t have an eraser though compared to my Intuos Pro’s pen, that’s not really a big deal for me personally, as I’m more used to switching to the eraser using a shortcut key than to flip my pen. Please note, as you can see from my review drawing, I was most certainly able to draw with this amount of inaccuracy, but like I mention in my review, it was difficult doing smaller details because the cursor was not following the pen pixel-by-pixel. The XP-Pen Artist 12 Pro supports up to 60 degrees of tilt function, so now you don't need to adjust the brush direction in the software over and over again.

I really doubt it’s going to break frequently enough that paying ~25 USD for another one is going to be a problem. Adopting fully-laminated technology, the Artist 12 Pro seamlessly combines the glass and screen to create a distraction-free working environment. As you saw in the Drawing tests section, there are some fairly clear bumps in the taper which make it not as perfect as it could be.

Please close all drawing programs and run the driver as Administrator when installing the XP-PEN driver. This flexibility allows the flow of creative ideas and the problem-solving process to be presented intuitively and efficiently.

As you can see, I was not able to get the lines to start on the start line consistently, but I was able to start them fairly close to it most of the time.In my opinion, the GAOMON PD1560 was a fantastic choice when it first came out, but it’s a lot less compelling now that similar/better tablets like the Huion Kamvas Pro 16, XP-Pen Artist 15. At angles where it's going to reflect light, the white haze effect will appear and affect the contrast of the colours. In terms of the lightest pen pressure, I could get somewhat thin lines with the 300px IAF test pen, but when using a 300px.
