As Noel Gallagher explains, Oasis had almost entirely skipped the stage of playing theatre-sized venues – the mainstay of the successful British indie band – and instead went from pubs to arenas and then stadiums off the quickfire success of Definitely Maybe (1994) and (What’s The Story) Morning Glory?

Recorded at Hive Mind Studios in Brooklyn, NY, with the help of producer/arrangers Mike Buckley and Vincent Chiarito (both members of Charles Bradley's Extraordinaires) and crack team of a-list musicians, his upcoming album blends heavy arrangements and introspective lyrics with sophistication, leaving the listener in a blissful wash of wonderment. Check out which early releases and limited pressings you need to get your hands on and how you can do it. Admittedly it does sound a little flat production-wise in the same way that other Live recordings do. In addition, the DVDs and blu-ray include both nights edited by Dick Carruthers with audio mixed by Will Shapland in Dolby 5.I'm sort of hoping it is the start of pulling out a lot more Oasis stuff from the archives, a proper reissue of Standing on the Shoulders and Heathen Chemistry, maybe a proper reissue on Blur Ray of Familiar to Millions. As for the sound quality, the vinyl quality is really good but due to the nature of live recordings some songs sound better than others. I remember waiting for the first radio play of Hindu Times to come on so that I could hit the record button on the cassette deck too, I was late for college that day but totally worth it.

What: The overlong yet underrated 1997 album is being reissued with B-sides and previously unheard demos. You and I are gonna live forever” – and the poignancy of how fleeting it is: “The years are falling by like the rain / it’s never gonna be the same. This release has the Parental Advisory Explicit Content label included as part of the album artwork. I think I’ll spend this weekend listening to some of these tunes again to figure out where I am with them.

Why you need it: It’s just as ballsy as the final version, but has a rawer, amateurish feel to it that we’re totally digging. A routinely great artist, much of Sufjan's universal appeal comes from his skills as a gifted narrator, pairing personal musings on love and devotion with commentary on American culture, whilst welding folk and electronica, the ambient and existential. I've always found Squire's additions to be largely reminiscent of a "baggy Jimmy Page" without any attempt to give it any melody or crescendo that song really needs. Some songs are better here than original versions (Columbia, Acquiesce, and The Masterplan) plus the cover of "I Am the Walrus" are all incredible. I guess you have to bear in mind that it is a recording of a live performance which probably wasn't recorded with the intention of it being released.

keen to relive a time in the 90s when Oasis were briefly everywhere and everything, before they blew it all with Be Here Now (which I still love as well, so currently it's just me and Liam). What: A unique dartboard crafted produced for the release of 2006 compilation album ‘Stop The Clocks’. Arguably he, and subsequently this film, have freighted the event with greater meaning than it required: the joy of live music is in immediate, fleeting sensation, which doesn’t need to get caught on the hide of history.

As the band and reminiscing punters assert here rather too often and too strenuously, with 125,000 people on each night, these were the biggest ever outdoor concerts in the UK (except 1970’s Isle of Wight festival was considerably bigger) and they could never happen again (except when Robbie Williams outdid Oasis with three nights at Knebworth in 2003). What: Early demos of ‘Rock n’ Roll Star’ and ‘Fade Away’ feature on this exclusive fan club cassette.

Released alongside the cinema debut of the feature length documentary film of the event, ‘Oasis Knebworth 1996’ is the definitive live recording featuring a setlist packed with stone cold classics album taken from across both nights of the concert, from the opening salvoes of ‘Columbia’ and ‘Acquiesce’, to ‘Champagne Supernova’, ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’, ‘Live Forever’, an orchestra backed ‘I Am The Walrus’, and ‘Wonderwall’ the first song from the 1990’s to reach over one billion streams on Spotify and universally loved anthem.
