Due to the device's storage limit, only a maximum of 20 membership cards can be added to the same account. Supported codes include Code 128, Code 39, UPC A, EAN 13, and EAN 8 and QR codes. Switching topics entirely, you’ve got training load. You’ll see this post-workout, as well as within the app. And to Amazfit’s credit here, the training load numbers (per workout) almost exactly match what I get from my Garmin watches. Like, within a few units (e.g., 211 vs 208). This is somewhat notable, because even with my T-Rex Ultra testing, when the optical HR sensor would produce wonky results, it’d still manage to give me near identical training load and recovery values.

Finally, smaller things like no running with power (though it does have somewhat advanced running metrics like stride length and cadence), a very limited on-watch post-workout data screen (typically forcing you to use the Zepp app, which is actually very good), and intermittent issues with smartphone connectivity might not be make-or-break for the Cheetah Pro, but it does show that Amazfit isn’t 100% there when it comes to their sport-focused devices. Section divider Conclusions Live Sports Data Broadcast supports English and Chinese voice broadcasts, and requires a connection to Bluetooth headphones.Adding to that, the day before, while recording a simple 2-hour ride on flat ground chasing my wife around her Ironman race, it produced a stunning 23,651ft (7,209m) elevation gain, for no obvious reason. Battery Saver Mode: Limited functions are available; health monitoring functions such as heart rate, blood-oxygen and stress monitoring are turned off, and only basic sleep monitoring is enabled; Bluetooth connection is limited to BLE, raising the wrist to light up the screen is turned off.

Both smartwatches provide long battery life, ensuring that you won’t be interrupted during your workouts or daily routines. And then here’s an interval set from the previous run. Ignore that line that drops out half-way, that’s when I forgot to replace the battery on the chest strap, and it died halfway (and defaulted to the optical HR sensor for that watch, which wasn’t on my skin). But as you can see, pretty happy with the Amazfit results here for what were hard 400m intervals: The brand also claims to offer an AI-power running coach. It probably won’t be true AI but why let that spoil a good PR line? Let’s just call it sophisticated. With Amazfit’s watches in general, battery life has been a positive and that doesn’t change with the Cheetah Pro. The Amazfit Cheetah Pro is Amazfit’s first attempt at making a watch for runners. Joining the Cheetah Round and Square, the Pro sits at the top of that trio, offering a bigger screen and nicer design materials. The plans are at least well designed and the sessions weren’t out of the ordinary of other plans we’ve followed in the past and are well built for those new to running or training for their first race.

Automatic GPS Mode: Turn on heart rate monitoring and GPS movement. This mode lasts approximately 44 hours, but the actual duration may vary depending on the satellite signal strength in your location. On the other hand, the Amazfit Cheetah (Round) is a more practical watch for aspiring athletes, boasting a fiber-reinforced polymer body weighing 32g.There’s also a run prediction feature and these features collectively felt more useful. Predictions felt nicely in line with other predictions on a Garmin watch that has a much longer history of data to fuel those predictions. All of this information is viewable within the Amazfit app, which is confusingly called ‘Zepp’. Zepp is actually the company that ‘owns’ Amazfit the brand. And while that’s fine to have parent company names, Amazfit doesn’t use the alternate names field within their app, so if you search for ‘Amazfit’, it doesn’t actually find it in your list of apps. If you have to remember to search for Zepp each time (and not Zeep, or Zip, or Zippo, or Zanny). Again, these are minor things, but that’s sort of the general theme of Amazfit stuff – it’s lots of little minor quirks. Given only Amazfit products (treadmill, weight scale, watches, bands, earbuds – all branded Amazfit) seem pairable within this app, I’m not clear why it would be named Zepp. The watch itself has two buttons — one a digital crown — and comes with a nylon band that's a little narrow when sliding my fist through it. Most runners have strong opinions about crowns and nylon straps, so that could influence your opinion. The HUNT Fitness Study indicates that people who maintain a PAI score of 100 or higher show lower risk of hypertension, heart disease, and type-2 diabetes. HUNT Fitness Study: This study was conducted by Professor Ulrik Wisloff of the Faculty of Medicine, Norwegian University of Science and Technology. It lasted for more than 35 years and had more than 230,000 participants. To use this function, all-day heart rate monitoring must be enabled.

The Zepp Coach is a lot like we’ve seen from Garmin and Huawei where you can build a plan for a particular distance or race you want to train for and after a few questions to shape that training will build you a plan you can sync and follow on the watch. As mentioned above, there is an absolute embarrassment of riches when it comes to functions, and while we’ll get into a few that are missing below, it’s tough to find something on your smartwatch wishlist that isn’t already built into the Cheetah Pro. Tri-important functions like open-water swim, triathlon mode, and multisport mode all work well enough for 95% of triathlete’s needs, and we found each customizable (enough) to present the data fields you’d want for most training or racing applications. It’s got a good-sized screen, a comfortable (and removable) nylon strap, and physical buttons, and it’s waterproof up to 50 meters, so you can take it for a swim and jump in the shower with it. Morning updates need to be set in the Zepp App or in the watch settings, and the currently supported content is: weather, battery, sleep, schedule, PAI, yesterday's activity. The Amazfit Cheetah Pro, aimed at elite runners, features a premium design with a titanium alloy bezel and a lightweight body weighing 34g (excluding the strap). To the right are individual, customizable tiles for personalized access that provide easy navigation to specific features. The battery life may vary according to the settings, operation conditions and other factors. So the actual result may differ from the laboratory data.
