The fourth Discworld novel and first in the Death series - revamped with a fresh bold look targeting a new generation of fantasy fans. When Pratchett first describes Death's voice, he compares it to "lead slabs being dropped on granite" (pg. Blue boards with faux leather binding with gold lettering to spine and pictorial illustration to front with gold lettering are near fine with a few very minor bumps to edges. The first adventure in the Folio Society editions of ‘The Magic Faraway Tree’ series, Enid Blyton’s The Enchanted Wood features Jonathan Burton’s enchanting illustrations and a new introduction by Michael Morpurgo. In 2004, Pratchett stated that Mort was the first Discworld novel with which he was "pleased", stating that in previous books, the plot had existed to support the jokes, but that in Mort, the plot was integral.Pratchett's writing alternates between grand fantasy and humorous musings on life as befits any examination of death, Death, and the follies of life.

Slight rubbing to edges and covers of dust-jacket, now protected using removable clear wrap, otherwise in very good condition.Mort eventually discovers that his actions have created an alternate reality in which Keli lives, but he also learns that it is being overridden by the original reality and will eventually cease to exist, killing Keli. Along the way, Mort encounters not only Death's adopted daughter, Ysabell - who has been 16 for 35 years - and his mysterious manservant Albert - whose cooking can harden an artery at ten paces - but also an incompetent wizard with a talking doorknocker and a beautiful, but rather bad-tempered and dead, princess. The adaptation was by Jenifer Toksvig (sister of Sandi Toksvig) and the composer was Dominic Haslam. This is his fourth novel set in fictional land, 'Discworld', with this work focusing on the character 'Death', who had previously been a side character.
