I didn’t read any directions, but we washed, deep conditioned, leave in (Mane Choice) ... then a styling cream (also Mane Choice), followed by this wax, section by section, re-wetting along the way. It did feel hard as it dried, like a styling gel was applied to her hair. I misted a teeny bit of oil (Mane Choice Hair Polish) bc we usually seal with an oil but I wasn’t sure how that would be with the color.
