Description

While creating his weapon, Hiram Maxim came to the necessity to use the energy of recoil which had not been used before. Living in the US, he suggested the government to accept the machine gun for service. After refusal he left for the UK. There, the banker Nathaniel Rothschild became interested in his invention and financed not only the development of this new kind of firearms, but also its production. Among Russian models of miniature shooting guns, there are record-holders regarding the size and the shot power. For example, this model of the Bulldog revolver, created by the Tula master Sergey Labaznikov in 2008.

My thanks to Ken Grey and Henry Krank & Co Ltd for the chance to look at some very unique pieces indeed. Well I thought it would be a long time before I ever got my hands on a single action Colt Peacemaker again! But on my desk are two examples, along with a Colt .36 Navy cap & ball revolver and a Winchester 1866 sporting rifle. So Mr Northmore has a Section 5 licence? No, but what he does have are some of Uberti’s miniature firearms. I had briefly seen these tiny little guns many years ago, but never had the chance to play with them, but now I have… Larger by the fact of the model it represents is the Winchester 1866 (Yellow Boy) sporting rifle. This is a true work of art as the quality of materials and finish is very good. The walnut forend and straight hand butt are superb bits of timber, the brass action, end cap and crescent-type butt plate are finished to a mirror shine. The barrel, magazine tube and lever are well blued. Sights consist of a flip-up ladder with actual sliding range bar at the rear, which is even marked as to distance. Up front is a blade set in a transverse dovetail. Obviously zeroing is not feasible but it’s all there and it works. On the Internet you can find options for any taste and budget. For example, such models are made by Canadian master David Kucer. Pole in origin, he moved to Canada in 1930. After the end of the World War II, he devoted all his time to making miniatures. His works are in the collections of many museums around the world. But with time new demands appeared. In 1943 “Maxim” was replaced by the Peter Goryunov machine gun, equipped with a barrel cooling system. Despite this, “Maxims” were being released at Russian arms factories of Tula and Izhevsk in limited quantities until the end of World War II. Maxim Machine Gun was developed in 1883 by Hiram Stevens Maxim and became the first example of automatic weapons. It was used during almost all serious wars in the first half of the XX century. German «Luger» on the scale of 1: 4. It is made by a Czech master Stan Stenekom in 2000. Fun fact: the master’s main profession is a musician, not a mechanic or a jeweler. As you can see, artistic people can be fond of miniature guns that shoot. The price of this specimen is also about six thousand dollars. Bring your passion for gun collecting with you wherever you go with our scale model replica firearms and accessories. At Armory, realism matters. Our high-quality scale models by GoatGun are 1:3 scale sized and made from die cast metal and some acrylic plastic. Our scale models are for everyone! Unlike real guns and realistic replicas, our model kits can be shipped anywhere. If you live in a state where gun ownership is restricted then this is the perfect way to start your collection. Our models are not actual firearms and cannot be modified to fire a projectile. They are also much less likely to be confused for the real thing. While these guns are extremely well detailed, the 1:3 scale size will prevent them from being easily mistaken for their real counterparts. They also make great gifts for that gun enthusiast in your life! Only the Finest Scale Model Kits We should also mention the antique models, which were issued at the beginning of the last century in Germany and Austria. According to the principle of work, they could be a single shot type, magazine type and revolver type. Their caliber was the same as in «SwissMiniGun». But the design significantly distinguishes them among today’s «brothers»: the beauty and quality in old days meant much more. The cost of these ancient samples, of course, is corresponding. It is hard to give the exact price, it all depends on how rare the selected exemplar is and how interesting it is from a historical point of view.

Dive into the Miniature Weapon World with WPolah.com Miniature firearms can be designed in different styles. Often, to simplify their work, the masters don’t make precise copies of real samples, but show only the main directions: for example, a revolver or a pistol. But at the same time they make working models. As an example, you can look at this gun, made on the scale of 1/2, called DeWalt (that looks like the author’s name). The model is attractive enough and very simple in design.

By the way, the previous model «Berloque» was started from one of them: in 1905, the creator of its first prototype was the Austrian, Gerhard Gebharter. Armory model kits come unassembled with step-by-step instructions. Also included are 3 dummy rounds, and either a display stand with connectors, or bipods so you can display them in your home, office, workshop, or wherever else you would like. Each model consists of 10 to 15 pieces that either snap or screw together. In general, they take approximately 5 to 10 minutes to assemble. Please note that while these replicas are die cast metal, some parts may be fragile. Take care when handling your scale model mini gun and follow all the included instructions for best results. High-Quality Miniature Replicas This is one of the first multi-shot pistols designed by the partners Smith and Wesson. Financial difficulties made them unable to set up a mass production of this gun, it was done several years later by Winchester, who bought their business. Thanks to Kucer, we can directly see and hold in hand this famous historical model, which played such an important role in the development of arms. This miniature 1854 “Volcanic” lever action gun is just 3-3/16″ long. It is included in the collection of the Miniature Craftsmanship Museum in Vista, CA.

Nevertheless, it is believed that the smallest six-shot revolver is the «SwissMiniGun». View this model more closely. Again fully strippable the cross wedge can be pushed out to allow the barrel/rammer assembly to be removed from the arbour in the standing breech. The Navy Colt is identical in barrel and overall size to the Cavalry revolver, though being of finer line, is slimmer. What is especially in demand? Things that no one else has! It means an exclusive mini-weapons designs, handmade items. Their value depends on the complexity and the size of the mechanism. The smaller the scale – the more valuable the product is. Of course, provided that it retains its ability to fire like its original. Decreasing size masters often simplify the mechanism and significantly change it – the laws of physics make it impossible to reproduce all the nuances and small details. And, nevertheless, we don’t talk about fakes, but about miniature guns that shoot. Collectors of all countries «hunt» them regardless of the price and geographical distances. Miniature models of revolvers The only real difference apart from the size is the fact the bore is not rifled, there’s an integral plug at the forcing cone and no calibre exists that will fit this tiny wheelgun. The guns even have numbers and all the markings that the full sized firearms do. Our kits are on a 1:3 scale and include a variety of well-known weapons. Like any of our other products, accuracy is a priority for these models. They may be on a smaller scale than standard replicas, but they are still crafted with attention to every detail. We have miniature 1911s, AK-47s, AR-15s, and more. How to Assemble Your Mini Gun
