Description

Aiden and Ivy shared a past together, since when they were kids they were best friends and yet now that they were attending the same university, Ivy pretended not to know Aiden or didn’t acknowledge him. It kinda felt like it was written by a 40 year old man trying to understand a twenty something woman and her problems.

For all the work that Ivy put into moving forward in her life, she still found herself having those moments where she almost succumbed to the suicidal thoughts that would plague her. They both had their own struggles in life, but those struggles ultimately bring them together again and it was done so beautifully. Ivy and Aiden truly got their chance at a life together and I’m always a sucker for good epilogue which this book delivered on. It was the simple things like; sharing their insecurities and secrets first before sharing themselves.Every time Aiden would try to help her, she would just turn him down and continuously question why he wanted to help her. Just because resources exist for people like me who suffer from our own minds doesn’t mean it’s easily accessible. Admittedly this won't be for everyone, our heroine does suffer from self harm and it didn't fully go into the details as some might want it to, it was glossed over not making that the full focus of this book and I was ok with that. Every time I see a commercial or flyer about getting help, I believe less and less that the people who create them understand what it takes to link those who are suffering to those willing to help without charging a kidney per session.

They are both there for a second chance, Ivy to prove she can get her life back on track and Ayden to restart his football track to the NFL after some past troubles. Like Aiden clearly has these dominant vibes, but he’s also sweet and understands that Ivy can handle herself and doesn’t need the help or him trying to control her decisions.Oh boy was I wrong, right away from the few first pages, I got this feeling within me that I was going to love this book, and the premise of the book intrigued me. She escaped a family that treated her like a nuisance, freely flourishing attention and money on her younger brother because he was deemed worthy. I understand in some ways Ivy needed him to be a bit pushy, but it was just another thing that annoyed me. Safety: trigger warning for attempted suicide, suicidal thoughts; 3+ semi explicit scenes with sexual content. I loved every single thing about this story, and I feel like once you read it, you’ll understand what I mean.

But she was a honest representation of a girl who suffered, who was depressed, whose past haunts her still.Despite Ivy trying to keep herself guarded and protected from getting hurt, Aiden managed to find his way back into Ivy’s life, and let’s be honest, Ivy missed him just as much too. There's a World of books to choose from such as: Children's Books, Range includes Baby Books (0-3), Books for Toddlers (3-5), Early Readers (5-7), Childrens Story books (7-11), Young Teens (11-14), Young Adults (14-16) and Childrens Educational Books. Then you pair that with Ivy’s unique back story and character development and you have an all-out home run character. but also with the separation, the heroine and hero would have to learn to be friends again, so I was really interested in this. I think the author tried to do far too much in one story and I was disappointed with her family coming back into it.
