Squidgygate is a different event altogether, but it does shed some light on what was going on in England’s tabloid culture at the time. Squidgygate went down in 1992 and was eerily similar to Tampongate in that a random person was said to have “accidentally” tapped into a call between Princess Diana and her friend James Gilbey using his radio. This conversation was actually recorded in early January 1990, but The Sun published it in August 1992—dubbing the incident Squidgygate. Why that name, you ask, in a panic? Because James called Diana “Squidgy” and “Squidge” multiple times.

Custard: A mildly sweet food that is based on milk. Can be eaten alone or as a topping for cakes and pastries. However, as I suspected, it doesn't quite have the scrubbing power of an ordinary washing up sponge, but it does work perfectly adequately on most surfaces. It works particularly well to wash awkward items like kitchen gadgets and cheese graters, but it doesn't get into all the crevices of a pan handle easily. I've found that folding it in half works better when working around these sorts of items, and maybe it's just a different technique that I need to get used to. Chia Pudding: A soft pudding made with chia seeds soaked in milk. Flavoured with things like nuts, fruits, cocoa powder and maple syrup. Chinchilla: Rodents that are a little larger than squirrels. Known for their dense fur and round bodies. Putty: A highly malleable material that can be used as a toy, or in construction and repair as a sealant.

Known for their ability to spray ink as a defensive mechanism. I've been using the squidgy thing as my main washing up tool for the past week and it doesn't stink! It's also surprising easy to clean. I simply spray it with antibacterial surface cleanser and rinse thoroughly under the hot tap when I'm done washing up. So is it more hygienic than a regular washing up sponge? Yes. It certainly seems so. Lamb’s Ear: Also known as woolly hedgenettle. A plant in the mint family that has velvety leaves that feel like a soft lamb’s ear.Mashed Potato: A dish made of mashed potatoes, sometimes with butter and cream or milk stirred through. Octopus: Soft-bodied marine animals with eight tentacles. Are intelligent and know how to use tools. The shape of the tail will tell you if it’s a female (with a broad, oval tail) or male (with a narrow and triangular tail). Like shrimps and lobsters, crabs are crustaceans – animals with a hard shell that live in water.
