It’s great to have a zoom camera available on a phone, which is where models such as the iPhone X and the Samsung S9 Plus have been appealing. Images from this camera are not on a par with the wide-angle zoom, but they are still very good - image stabilisation does an excellent job of keeping things smooth. This lens has a narrower aperture, so it’s not quite as impressive in low light as the main lens, but if you’re shooting holiday pictures and the like in good light, you should be impressed.

This feature is accessed via a dedicated shooting mode (Night), so it's a manual choice. Night mode utilizes Huawei's multi-frame AI image stabilisation to allow you to hand-hold the camera for up to 6 seconds and still achieve a sharp image - it really has to be seen to be believed! The P20 Pro can also shoot really long exposureswhen mounted on a tripod for incredible night shots that other smartphones can't match. I have to say that I am very impressed with the P20 Pro it has a very good battery life and fantastic camera quality for those who are keen to take photographs and videos
