Description

Walk past almost any chemist these days, and you’ll see a windowful of CBD-based products, and demand for the stuff is now so great – particularly over the last stressful few months – that it has migrated into drinks as disparate as as soft drinks, tea and gin. And it’s legal. Mary Lewis, Creative Director at The Collaborators said, “It really does ‘Feel Good’ to take the brand up a level and give people a better choice on how they consume. We’re proud to see that our approach and our new design has been well received and we hope this marks a happier, healthier new chapter for Feel Good drinks.” Tropical fruit juice drinks (such as mango or lychee) or drinks made from cranberries, raspberries or cherries are often the ones to watch for. If you like these drinks, look for no-added-sugar versions, though bear in mind they will still contain fruit juice and therefore sugar. Although some people think that the caffeine in tea and coffee might damage their health, this isn’t the case for most people. In fact, drinking moderate amounts (4-5 cups a day) of tea or coffee has been linked to benefits for reducing risk of CVDand type 2 diabetes. Beach bum: Seatown’s long beach means that even in summer you’re sure to find somewhere peaceful to lay out a towel and relax.

Activity lover: Sandbanks beach offers windsurfing, paddleboarding, or a boat trip along the Jurassic coastline towards Swanage. The Bristol-based agency has transformed the brand into one that “not only tastes good, but does good too.” And even sugar-free fizzy drinks are still acidic (because of the carbonation) which can damage your teeth. Adding a 5g teaspoon of sugar to 5 cups of tea or coffee adds the same as 20 rich tea biscuits or three Mars bars Feel Good General Manager, Ed Woolner, explains; ‘ The launch of this new format will offer convenience for our shoppers, providing a middle ground between our current formats of one and twelve cans. We are very much aware of the growing demand for soft drinks, with low or no added sugar or sweeteners but also drinks that are created using natural ingredients and offer added health benefits so want to ensure that Feel Good Drinks is the go to choice in this category. With sustainability and the environment also being a core pillar of our brand our drink is a drink to ‘feel good’ about.’

Carbonated Water, Fruit Juices from Concentrate 16% (Apple, Lemon), Natural Flavourings, Colouring Food (Concentrate of Carrot) Whilst we have a strong focus on the climate, we continue to support community programs and we were excited in 2021 to announce our partnership with The Wave in Bristol. Feel Good is a supporting partner for the Waves of change program; where we help young people realise the benefits of the water and blue health. This program will grow in 2022 and we are aiming to run courses across 12 weeks throughout the year. We’ve been able to support the planting of over 8000 seagrass seeds since it’s inception, and supported Project Seagrass in creating Wales' first inland seagrass nursery 🌱 The Wave is close to junction 17 of the M5 motorway in South Gloucestershire, just 20 minutes from Bristol City Centre. Don’t be deceived by claims such as “high juice”– these can still contain a lot of sugar. No-added sugar versions would be a better choice - and they should also cost you less than sugar-sweetened versions now the levy on sugar sweetened drinks has been introduced.

There may be health benefits to drinking tea and coffee, but if you take your tea or coffee with sugar, honey or syrups it can add up. Adding a 5g teaspoon of sugar to 5 cups of tea or coffee over the day adds 100 calories or 700kcals over the week – the same amount of energy as 20 rich tea biscuits or three Mars bars. It’s less than in a sugar-sweetened soft drink, but if you cut out the sugar in your tea and coffee, it could help you to lose around 10lb over a year. Surfing played such a big role in the hard times in my life, so I just love knowing that by working with The Wave we can help give more people access to water who really need it and can benefit from it. It’s all about the chance to taste it, and the good impact it can have on your life. I think surfing has never had a bigger role to play. Surfing is just so relevant for blue health. So this is about allowing people - particularly disadvantaged young adults in Bristol - to access the things that we love and make us feel good. And it’s not just about surfing, and waves, but the behavioural and mental health change that being in or near the water can foster, overcoming fears and gaining confidence. Set in a private field close to the waves The Camp at The Wave offers 25 tents, both private and shared accommodation. Mary Lewis, creative director at The Collaborators, said, “It really does ‘Feel Good’ to take the brand up a level and give people a better choice on how they consume. We’re proud to see that our approach and our new design has been well received and we hope this marks a happier, healthier new chapter for Feel Good drinks.” The agency developed a refreshingly minimalist design, providing stand out and calm on a busy shelf fixture. They created an ownable logo – the smiling and peaceful ‘zen’ face – a flexible visual mnemonic that is incorporated into the brand name, and can also be used independently as a signifier, favicon and animation in the broader brand world. We’ve ranked 13 popular drinks from best to worst based on their nutritional value – in particular sugar and fat. Read on to quench your thirst the heart-healthy way. 1. Water Pictured above are some snaps from the research nursery in Wales, finding optimum growing conditions for the seagrass!

While these drinks are unlikely to ever be a healthy option, you can ask for changes to cut down on the calories, saturated fat and sugar. Ask for drinks to be made with low-fat milk and sugar-free syrups and avoid marshmallows on top. Keep whipped cream on top for an occasional treat and ask for a small amount rather than the regular serving. From absorbing carbon, protecting our coastlines and providing a habitat for marine species, we couldn’t be more proud to fund the research and planting of seagrass across our coastlines by Project Seagrass 🙌 Feel Good drinks has a long term commitment to sustainability and becoming a regenerative brand. In 2021 we completed the measurement of our carbon footprint through scopes 1 – 3, working with an independent expert we identified the brand emitted 203 tons of carbon in 2020* Following our findings we offset 487 tons of carbon; more than twice our base line and we published our findings in the ‘Mission Possible’ report; whilst signing up to Net Zero target of 2030 with a 16 point carbon mitigation plan aligned to UN SDGsRefuel: Visit Clavell’s in Kimmeridge for locally sourced “field to fork” food. Head to the pub at Worth Matravers to warm up by the fire or cool down in the garden, depending on the season! If you’re at home, make a heart-healthy hot chocolate by mixing unsweetened cocoa powder with hot low-fat milk, and low-calorie sweetener if needed. Many coffee shops now do “iced” versions of these drinks, but bear in mind that these won’t be any lower in fat and calories. Hydrating, inexpensive and sugar-free: water is the best choice for drinking over the day. If you want to give it some flavour without adding sugar, try adding ice cubes and fresh mint or strips of cucumber. Make surfing your next trip. The Wave is a unique environment and provides a special place for an education-led, active learning, adventure for young people over 6 years old.

Feel Good Drinks produce a sustainable, purpose-led range of fruitful sparkling waters made with 100% natural ingredients; created using no artificial flavours, added sugar or sweeteners and containing 15% real fruit juice.

After Clipper Teas I worked for Monster Energy for five years, but never felt good about the health of the products. Then I started my own drinking water company in 2014 driven by healthy living. I invested absolutely everything into it, but in 2018 I lost everything. It was a massively humbling moment in my life. It was kind of like being hit in the face by Mike Tyson. But even though life was broken financially, I realised that where I lived and what I could do with the family was so much more important. The fact that I could push my kids into waves and go to the beach and go fishing with them meant everything. And through that I started to feel rich in a different way. So despite it all going so wrong financially, I felt like I had done the right thing with life decisions. Then I got approached with the opportunity to take the lead at Feel Good Drinks and help fulfil its potential. What have been your aims at Feel Good Drinks? Even regular milkshake drinks without ice-cream will be high in sugar – some contain 10 tsp of sugar in a single bottle. Bear in mind that adding milkand cream will add fat and calories. If you like your drink with milk, use low-fat milk – semi-skimmed, 1% or skimmed. Energy drinks come with a price premium due to their added ingredients such as taurine and guarana, as well as caffeine. Diluting a small amount of squash with water can make it seem quite harmless, but in actual fact a squash or cordial made with sugar comes with around 3 teaspoons of sugar per glass.
