Trevor's last appearance until the fifteenth series episode, Emily and Dash and the last time he is referred to by name until the twentieth series episode, Three Steam Engines Gruff. When Thomas arrives at the fishing village, there are dirty vans at both ends of his train, but when he goes over the bridge, both vans are at the front of the train. When Arthur takes them away, one of the vans is in the middle. Fergus differs slightly from his basis: his smoke box is larger to accommodate a face. His bufferbeam is also missing a large section for the same reason. Emily gets into an accident and occurs with muddy water; the first was the eighth series episode, Emily's New Route. Series 10 - Toby's Afternoon Off, Seeing the Sights ( cameo), Edward Strikes Out ( cameo) and Thomas and the Treasure ( cameo)

Cranky has an intense dislike for Salty's stories and Charlie's jokes. According to one of Salty's tales, Cranky is "the Monster of Brendam". In some descriptions of Thomas and the New Engine, Neville is mistakenly described as actually being a diesel, as opposed to just looking like one. Later, Murdoch has a very long train to pull. He looks forward to some peace and quiet, but everywhere he goes is noisy and crowded. Murdoch looks forward to a nice rest at the sheds that night. But as he arrives, Salty and Harvey begin to ask him lots of questions about his past. Murdoch becomes annoyed and tells them both that he wants peace and quiet, and that he does not want to share a shed with chatterboxes. Harvey is upset, believing Murdoch is rude, while Salty tells him that they are only being friendly. In terms of appearance, Murdoch dons a livery of dull orange with green and red lining. He sports smoke deflectors adorned with red nameplates displaying his name in gold. When Trevor trundles across the runway, his driver is steering him whilst sitting in his coal bunker, which is empty. Cranky was later unloading a crate from a ship at Brendam, but accidentally dropped the crate to the ground. Fearing the contents inside of the crate were broken, Cranky hid the crate out of sight, though it was later found and taken to the Town Hall. Series 11 - Thomas and the Spaceship ( cameo), Thomas Sets Sail, Don't be Silly, Billy ( cameo), Hide and Peep, Thomas and the Runaway Car ( cameo), Thomas in Trouble ( cameo), Thomas and the Stinky Cheese ( cameo) and Percy and the Left Luggage ( cameo)

Fergus is the only character in the series to have permanent bronze buffers. The other two ( Emily and Spencer) had theirs replaced with silver ones in the following series. Murdoch's last appearance until the eleventh series episode, Emily's Rubbish, as well as his only appearance in the eighth series. In Australia, this episode was released early on VHS and DVD before the seventh series aired on television so the Australian audience would not know who Arthur was, never mind Emily and Murdoch appearing as cameos. Later, Arthur finds Thomas in the fitter's yard, who proposes that they trade jobs. When the Fat Controller is looking for a replacement for Thomas, Arthur volunteers and asks the Fat Controller if he could run it permanently. The Fat Controller agrees and allows Arthur to run it. Arthur is proud to be running his routine work on the fishing line. His first appearance in completely original footage since the seventh series episode, Peace and Quiet. When Emily plunges into the muddy flood, one of her crew is not seen in her cab; both of her crew are also completely absent when she leaves the farm with Trevor.
