The soldiers include Ancelstierrean charter mages among their ranks, as charter magic is a more effective defence closer to the Wall and the Old Kingdom. It is a rather comforting read of two teens coming into their abilities, each on their own. For that, you may truly enjoy this book, and be able to let the other flaws fade in your mind. I hope you do. I wish I had come into the story with different expectations myself.
