At 300mm, it's hard to manually focus on the moon at night (or anything else, for that matter), since touching the lens causes the live view to shake so badly that I can't tell whether it's in focus or not. So I make one tiny focus adjustment, wait several seconds until the shaking dies down so I can see the result, and repeat a dozen times over. Tedious at best. Likewise, any statutory rights you have to a warranty free of charge from us remain unaffected by this warranty promise. I haven't used the Hama tripod you mentioned, but it looks like all the other similar tripods of cheap quality, a bit wobbly. That is to say; just like my own tripod, which is a Velbon CX-300. It will do the job of holding your camera steady. Not much more. But, it is okay, when you know what you are doing and what you can expect of that kind of tripod and what not. Here, an example: Manufacturer's Description- Camera tripod for non-jerky images and a steady hold on uneven surfaces, suitable for photo and video cameras

Hama Camera Tripod Star 61 (light tripod with 3-way head

Hama Star 61 is a nice cheap well made tripod, great for all vid and camera work, also i use this for my spotting scope to view the stars and moon. I really like this tripod its a good buy if you're on a budget also ideal for binoculars and bird watchers. I have the Hama Star 62, a sibling of the Star 61 you're asking about. The Star 62 has a slightly higher maximum height and is rated at 4 kg instead of 3 kg, otherwise they appear identical. I recommend this tripod to all on a budget, the only downside is there's no instruction manual needed for begginers who've never owned a tripod before and dont know what knob is for what, but its quite simple to operate. First, that tripod is okay for your DSLR. Having a cheap tripod is better than not having a tripod at all.If material or manufacturing faults that are considered to constitute a warranty claim occur during the warranty period, Hama GmbH & Co KG will resolve the fault free of charge by repairing the goods or replacing them a product that Hama GmbH & Co KG deems to be equivalent. Main gripe is the camera mounting assembly the plastic plate is not at all secure when in place - too much movement. Not really suitable for dslr. Hama GmbH & Co KG provides the following manufacturer’s warranty on the workmanship and materials used for the product 00004161 Tripé Star 61: 3 Anos de Garantia

How effective is HAMA STAR 61 tripod for shooting with Nikon

Hi, yes the Star 61 should be fine, it has a maximum load capacity of 3kg, the GH3 only weighs about 0.5kg so should be no problem. I'm confident that the tripod won't just tip over. And there's this hook where you can hang something heavy for stabilization if you're somewhere windy. A cabeça 3D permite o alinhamento perfeito para sessões no formato horizontal, vertical e transversal So you buy a slightly better tripod, and its better. But not good. A few years later, you spend a few hundred dollars on a solid tripod and use it for 20+ years. The cost of the first two tripods was the beginner's tax.

I was shooting in night when I realized that through manual settings when you increase your shutter speed the images becomes blurred due to slight shake and you need some sort of support or a tripod to have a clear picture. That is when I started searching for a tripod as I have no knowledge on the tripod I came across "HAMA STAR 61" which for me is quite affordable and decent. So My question is can "HAMA STAR 61" be used for DSLR's ? or should be specific in looking for DSLR's tripods ? You can be assured that purchasing from us is safe. All of our card transactions are processed securely by SagePay. In the case of defects caused by force or improper use, as well as in the case of repairs or actions by the purchasing party or third parties without the prior written consent of Hama GmbH & Co KG, the warranty becomes null and void. At 300mm, the imprecise adjustments and head sagging starts to seriously interfere with my ability to do any framing at all. Now it's more like "put the subject somewhere in the middle of the frame with lots of room on all sides, keep my fingers crossed, and do the framing in post". it has a normal screw, capabe of holding nearly any camera, however, the top bit has alot of screws and fixtures that i dont really know the reason for..
