Malt driven and fun, plenty of character here. Sweet cream, honey, apple crisp, a touch of sweetness. I don't notice a ton of rum on the nose, but hopefully it's a bit more present on the palate. The Scottish Highlands are used to source the spring water, and only the best grain is used. No matter the age, each bottle is expertly created for an enticing taste and smooth finish.

Butterscotch, fruit, citrus peels, honey, malt and misting of wood and spice. Like the aroma it’s nothing to write home about. Glenfiddich is a renowned single malt whisky distillery in Dufftown, Scotland. Glenfiddich means "valley of the deer" in Gaelic. The Glenfiddich distillery was founded in 1886 by William Grant. For my tastes Glenfiddich really hits its prime between 14-18 years and in the rare occasions you can get it at cask strength in that age range it’s stunning. I’ve harped on the 40% thing a lot lately while tasting through a bunch of Glenfiddich, but that’s because I know what Glenfiddich can taste like when it’s not neutered. Expressions like this Glenfiddich 21 just don’t do this lovely spirit justice. REFINED CARIBBEAN RUM FINISH

For over 130 years Glenfiddich has been one of the few single malt distilleries to remain entirely family owned and our whisky has become the world's most awarded single malt Scotch whisky, a true reflection of the passion, integrity and innovative spirit championed by a traditional fermentation process that has been passed down through the generations. Fruit, honey, citrus peel, malt, butterscotch and a light bit of wood and brown sugar. It’s an ok aroma, but nothing exiting. Having let it sit there for five months with (I suppose) different ambient temperatures to wherever it came from, it was as described and was very smooth - like drinking mineral water would be the mot juste - and a great celebratory day for all concerned. If you prefer a sweet finish to your single malt whisky, we recommend the taste of the Glenfiddich 15-Year-Old Single Malt Whisky. This variation has a curiously complex aroma of sweet heather, honey and vanilla fudge, combined with rich dark fruits. Glenfiddich 21 is NOT a whisky you buy to drink with the lads whilst the football is on. The idea of such a one, is to save it for a special occasion. I treated myself to one in July '14 in advance of my 30th birthday in the following February. This is the intent with the sale anything beyond an 18 year old from any distillery because, to open and drink it straight from delivery isn't going to give you the best experience.

For those who opt for a luxurious, fruity taste, try the Glenfiddich 18-year-old Single Malt Whisky. The most aged whisky in the flagship collection, this blend is alluring on the nose with scents of orchard fruit, baked apple and robust oak. I don’t get any of the supposed elegance of the Glenfiddich 21. To me it comes across as rigid and neutered. From aroma to finish it’s watery and understated in a way that makes it boring. It would make an impressive gift, but that’s about it. No partnership, joint venture, agency, or employment relationship is created as a result of your use of the Service.Sweet initially, then the tannin drops in. I don't typically equate Glenfiddich spirit with big tannins, but this 21yr Gran Reserva has quite a bit going on. Bitter oak, tobacco, sweet cream, caramel, cocoa, pecan and a touch of brown sugar. No ethanol, not super bold, but plenty complex. For my part, that was the intent, although there was an unexpected birth in the December (nephew was due in March) which, was reason enough for it to be opened at Christmas. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the remainder of the Terms shall continue in full force and effect. Medium to long finish, more oak here, maple, tobacco, light citrus and a big wallop of nougat. Satisfying complex, and a step up over other super premium Glenfiddich's.
