Description

Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings." - William Arthur Ward I am open to the opportunities that November brings. I embrace change with grace and optimism, knowing that every challenge is an opportunity for growth and transformation." The statement went on: “The position of the office on the grave situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territories and Israel is reflected in our reports and public statements.” To say there is an inherent paradox in Chapter I, Article IV of the Westminster Confession (hereafter, WC) is simply not accurate. This is now, beloved, the second letter I am writing to you in which I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder, that you should remember the words spoken beforehand by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior spoken by your apostles (2 Peter 3:1-2 NASB, my emphasis),

For the short form of a case, the general rule is to use the name of the first party, italicized (as was done in footnotes #4 and #13in the example below). I radiate positivity and kindness to everyone around me. I am a source of inspiration and encouragement, uplifting others with my words and actions. My presence has a positive impact on the world." WE DENY that the Scriptures receive their authority from the Church, tradition, or any other human source. What has been given short shrift in the WC is the role and instrumentality of the writers of Scripture, who because they were, in large part, prophets (in the Tanakh) and apostles (in the New Testament), the books which found their way into the canon of Scripture did so because they were recognized by literate Jews and Christians to be the Word of God, and not just the word of men. Footnote #3: Kylian Mbapp é , Comparative Constitutional Jurisprudence in the Twenty-First Century 15 (2022).This is the question that motivated the writing of AFFIRMED. Based upon actual lived experiences, AFFIRMED answers the question for the writer -- yet for the reader, only time and intention will tell. This program provides fresh perspectives and offers new insights for spiritual directors accompanying women through the Spiritual Exercises. Drawing from her book, co-author Elizabeth Liebert, SNJM, PhD explores barriers that women from various cultures and contexts often encounter in the Spiritual Exercises and invites spiritual directors to discover ways of accompanying women that are transformative and liberating. Through the use of input, personal reflection and group conversation, this program offers twisdom for all spiritual directors who accompany women and men facing obstacles in their spiritual lives that flow from situations of oppression and injustice. Elizabeth, who also co-authored the first edition of Spiritual Exercises Reclaimed: Uncovering Liberating Possibilities for Women over twenty years ago, draws from the deep well of her Ignatian wisdom and experience with the Spiritual Exercises. Rules 1-8 (pp. 61-94): Style rules, includingtypeface, capitalization, abbreviation, quotations, and cross references. The Zotero Citation Management System has an option for generating Bluebook-style citations. However, Zotero's citations are frequently not Bluebook-perfect (especially for primary sources like cases and statutes), so you will have to fix them if you want them to be right.

Peter may not have known that his two letters would one day find themselves in the canon of Scripture, but he certainly did know with full conviction and assurance that the apostle Paul's teaching had the apostolic ring of truth to it. Peter put Paul's teaching on the same level as "the rest of Scriptures." (A good question to ask at this juncture would be, "To Peter, what constituted 'the rest of Scriptures'?" but let's not complicate things any more than they need to be!) There are other divine revelations that are not in the Biblical canon, and are still the word of God. A few examples of non-canonical words of God are the prophetic utterances in the congregational worship of the New Testament church, the prophetic office during the Israelite theocracy when the words were not recorded, some of the Mosaic case law, and the primordial revelation that predated Moses but allowed people like Seth, Enoch, Noah, and Shem to live in fellowship with God. All of this material is "lost" to us, according to the plan of God, because its significance was not for us. Like the canon itself, these revelations did not depend upon the canon to affirm them. The only reason they are not a part of the Reformed system of doctrine that we don't have them. Additionally, Peter recognized the apostolic authority which resided in the apostles' teachings in general and in the words and teachings of the apostle Paul in particular because those teachings came from the Master directly and sometimes indirectly. As for the Master's deeds, the disciples and apostles were eyewitnesses (see, for example, Luke 1:2 and 2 Peter 1:16). First, the prophets and apostles in general: In addition to establishing formal courses of study in Christian spirituality and Ignatian discernment, Elizabeth has authored and co-authored several highly affirmed books on spiritual disciplines including Way of Discernment: Spiritual Practices for Decision Making and Soul of Discernment: A Spiritual Practice for Communities and Institutions. Mokhiber, who was stepping down having reached retirement age, wrote: “Once again we are seeing a genocide unfolding before our eyes and the organization we serve appears powerless to stop it.”

In his role as director of the New York office of the high commissioner for human rights, he has come under occasional fire from pro-Israeli groups for his comments on social media. He was criticised for posting support of the boycott, divest, sanctions (BDS) movement and accusing Israel of apartheid – an accusation which he repeated in his retirement letter. Lexis and Westlaw show citations for every case. These are generally correct in that the letters and numbers are right. But many cases are reported in multiple reporters, and the Bluebook has requirements regarding which citation version you use depending on the court. So you can and should use them, but you still have to use Rule 10 and Table T1 to make them perfectly compliant with the Bluebook rules.

A spokesperson for the UN in New York sent the Guardian a statement about Mokhiber, saying: “I can confirm that he is retiring today. He informed the UN in March 2023 of his upcoming retirement, which takes effect tomorrow. The views in his letter made public today are his personal views.” Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless, and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation; just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you, as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction (2 Peter 3:14-16 NASB, my emphasis). Reaction to Mokhiber’s outspoken departure from such a prominent UN position was mixed. Louis Charbonneau, the UN director at Human Rights Watch, told the Guardian that he had made a powerful argument against double standards in the stance of the world body. The last clause (starting with "yet notwithstanding, our full persuasion...") is the key. The Holy Spirit convinces the believer that the Bible is true. This is the epistemology of the Christian. It is not circular, because it has an infinite reference point starting with God. God has to reveal himself before anyone knows anything about him. By and large, the writers of Scripture claimed either to be speaking and writing on God's behest ("Thus saith the LORD," the original prophets said repeatedly) or they claimed to be repeating the words, teachings, and deeds of Jesus faithfully and with the corroboration of all the apostles. Once the apostles, disciples, and other eyewitnesses of the life and teachings of Jesus had died, God was obviously at work in preserving his church by preserving his Word and the faithful transmission of it through each successive generation of Christians. The PowerNotes Content Management System also has an option for generating Bluebook-style citations. It does Bluebook a bit better than Zotero, but its citations are not perfect either. If you want them to be correct, you have to fix them. Table 1 (p. 227)has jurisdiction-specific rules for citing U.S. federal and state cases, statutes, and other primary legal materials.

Yes, the Westminster Confession of Faith answers this apparent, but not real, circularity as follows. In Chapter 1 Paragraph 5, we read: Table 2 has rules for citing sources from selected foreign jurisdictions. It is no longer in the print version of the Bluebook, but it is freely available online. Footnote #12: But see id. at 227-30 (outlining Mbapp é's argument thatconstitutional court judges should alsobe trained in areas other than law). Take a moment for yourself, find a quiet and comfortable space, and let us guide you towards a heart full of thanksgiving. This October, let's cultivate gratitude together. He said that the UN had failed to prevent previous genocides against the Tutsis in Rwanda, Muslims in Bosnia, the Yazidi in Iraqi Kurdistan and the Rohingya in Myanmar and wrote: “High Commissioner we are failing again. In writings generally and not just in religious writings, for there to be a paradox there needs to be either a real contradiction or an apparent contradiction. What is contained in the Westminster Confession and other universally agreed upon statements of faith (e.g., The Apostles' Creed) is not a paradox but a defense of a presupposition; namely, the Bible is God's Word, and its authority derives ultimately from God.
